University of West Georgia is a nice school with a beautiful campus. There are plenty of opportunities to socialize and make friends. However, there seems to be an overhanging sense that this is a second-rate school. Most of the students are from the west Georgia area, largely because the economic downturn has forced many students to remain close to or at home. There is pretty much an equal ratio of males to females, which makes it easy to fraternize. The professors are mostly congenial, though there are a few who are unqualified and unfit. Mainly, be sure your professor can fluently speak the same language you speech or you might have trouble in, say, College Algebra. Overall, I am happy with my choice to attend UWG. I chose this school because of its proximity to my residence and have learned a good deal in most of my classes. I would recommend it to pretty much anyone, for the classes are not exceedingly difficult and pretty much anyone can pass with minimal effort. Still, if you are looking to be challenged academically, look elsewhere. This as an average school which will produce some great and some poor graduates. The quality of the education at this institution is determined by the individual's efforts.
