I only want to praise the University of Pittsburgh as well as it's branches.
I am the Mother of 5.
Three of my Young Adults are University of Pittsburgh Graduates.
My Oldest Daughter graduated from The University of Pittsburgh School of Engineering located at the Main Campus Pittsburgh, PA. She's quite a young Lady with her degree in Chemical Engineering who had a job waiting for her with a Fortune 500 Company upon graduation. She did an Internship with Mine Safety In Pittsburgh, PA. The only drawback to her job offer was that she had to relocate to Wisconsin until there was a job opening and she gained more experience, in the companies home office which is naturally Pittsburgh, PA.
My Oldest and Only Son graduated from The University of Pittsburgh's Greensburg branch with a degree in Computer Science who had a great job within 3 months of Graduation. He is working with a company who is pretty much going the way of turning the gases at Landfills into Methane gas and he is the guy behind the computer programs that makes it all happen. He has been all over the states in the last 8 years and had also been in Italy to give them a helping hand.
My 2nd oldest Daughter graduated Magna Cum Laude from The Universioty Of Pittsburgh's School of Information Science. She worked 1 internship that turned into a part time internship and lasted all through her college years. She worked 3 days a week and went to school for 2. She was blessed, having a good job and earning a decent wage while attending college and working in the her chosen field the last 2 1/2 years of School. She was offered a permanent position with the same Fortune 500 company as her sister although she did not have to relocate.
My 3rd Daughter is a Sophmore at the University of Pittsburgh's Johnstown's Branch and working at Sheetz for her pocket money and their College reinbursement program comes in Handy as well.
With one to go...we were happy to be informed that our Baby was accepted into the University of Pittsburgh's School of Information Sciences for the Fall Term!
God Bless Them All.
The reason I posted this is for other kids their age. My Husband and I are both disabled so they all put themselves through school with Grants and Student Loans and although they owe a small fortune back to the Department of Education they are just grateful they had the oppurtunity and once they get them paid off will be living the life they dreamed of.
Therefore if you are thinking of college but know our parents can't afford to send you. don't be afrraid to stand on your own 2 feet, and take out student loans to make your Dreams come True.
It may seem like it will be hard to pay them off but they make sure that you can still live comfotable while doing so.
My son is 8 years older than his first Sister so he's doing o.k. and has his loans paid off and is now working on paying of off a morgage.
The Girls are both driving New Cars, living in nice apartments, making a nice buck and piling up a nice 401 K all while paying off their Student Loans and both are still Single.
So Go For It.....it wasn't easy for Mom and Dad probably either...they had to work up to it and if they unfortunately like us became disabled and loss everything but their love and 401K. The depression that they are feeling like they left you down because something misfortunate happened to them...it will be the Greatest Gift on Earth you can give them. To see you make something of yourself...by yourself.
My Daughters tld me that personally...knowing they were paying for their own educations kept them grounded and they watched the little rich kids who everything was being handed too partied their years away and went to class when they felt like it!
God Bless You All and Remember...You Too Can Do It!
