I signed up for the University of Phoenix when Kean University cancelled all their Special Education classes without notice. I was initially nervous about the idea but found that the online classroom did work for me. I did have several really horrible group experiences where either I or two of us did the entire paper because the others did nothing. I think I would have felt much better about the online experience if the instructors had done the "right" thing and given the non contributers a zero. ALSO, you MUST check with your state to see if the University of Phoenix is recognized by them. One of my classmates found out after six classes that NC no longer accepted them (2004). She lost a lot of money. Do not trust the advisors as they had told her she would be fine.
