As a recent grad of UOPHX. I have to say that it was convenient, but wonder if it was worth the money. It was extremely expensive especially after they tacked on the on line fees, I was able to earn my Master's in 18 months, but had to work very hard with very little support. They say that they are there for you, but try contacting any of the advisors. Some of the instructors are pretty evasive as well. I would not have been able to earn my degree if not for on-line, but might look into a different school if I decide to go further. I don't think the quality of education was as good as other universities I have attended.

This was my opinion and my experience. I know what a good online experience is, this was not my first time taking online classes. At the other institutions the instructors and administraters were more available. I have taken many graduate courses and have had better experiences so please don't treat me as if I just writing with no cause. This was my experience, I am glad you had a good experience at UOPHX I did not. My review was my opinion.

I earned a BA at a bricks and mortar university and that was a great experience, but that was before I had a full time job and family. I have taken several on line courses for credit and had a better experience at the other institutions. Not all of UOPHX was bad but some of the instructors and administraters were very disappointing.

what online fees? I attend University of Phoenix and have never paid an online fee, ever. I pay for tuition and for rEsource (which is the books needed for class). Just imagine what it would cost if you needed to pay for books outside this rEsource.

I also have ready contact with my counselors in both Academics and Finance. Perhaps you need to work on developing your skills in relating to these people and they'll be more available. This goes doubly so for faculty. My professors have run the gambit from moderate to high quality but every one of them was widely available via phone and eMail.

Here's the deal, this is an online school and students need to stop thinking this is like sitting in a classroom somewhere and hoping the teacher calls on them. We are adults learning, which means we need to owners of our education and not sit passively by waiting for the world to take notice.

Ever try to get noticed in a traditional school, or get an appointment for counseling? UOP is much much better at that.

Were the other universities online as well? Are you realizing that you just prefer a brick and mortar school? Just curious! Thanks for sharing your opinion.
