I went to the University of Michigan ten years ago. It is an excellent, public university that is affordable to in-state students. I graduated from the school of education there. It was an excellent education and really gave me the tools that I needed to become a top-notch educator. I never lived in the dorms, but did have my own apartment and lived in a sorority house for two years. In both cases, I was able to learn a lot about myself and others.
The University of Michigan offered me a well-rounded college experience. I had excellent professors and large classes. But, I was also only one of twenty-three students in my cohort in the school of education. I was also introduced to Big Ten sports and lots of different social experiences. Greek life is active on campus, but there are lots of activities for students who choose not to join a fraternity or sorority.
Above all, the University of Michigan is where I met my husband, so I am most grateful for that.
