University of Arizona Review Summary

The University of Arizona is a popular institution among those who value higher education. This university, located in Tucson, Arizona, is notable for its diverse programs, its medical school, and its athletics. Both students and parents agree that the University of Arizona is worth attending “for the price” as well as for the “great weather”. For those who enjoy the great Arizona weather but prefer to attend college in a larger metropolitan area, another university to consider is the Arizona State University at the Tempe Campus.

The business college is great, faculty is super helpful...always an open door. Gen-eds are less than spectacular, but they always are. Upper divison classes are fantastic. Ranked in some programs, albeit not overall. Does well placing people into jobs after graduation. Tucson gets really hot,… read full review »

I always thought that good coaching was to make the athlete reach for their best and believe in themselves. (and of course win. I was a coach for 28 years). That a good baseball team would be built on honesty, strength of character and good skills. You don't get anyone to reach for their best… read full review »

My daughter graduated from U of A in May '07 and absolutely loved her whole college experience in Tucson and misses it every day!  We live in California so were faced with the dreaded "out of state tuition" but the college actually is very reasonably priced.  We really enjoyed our trips back there several times a year.  — — She graduated with a degree in communications and decided to live with college friends in San Diego but is still looking for a job in her field.  It seems like it would be easier in the work force to have a degree that actually prepares… read full review »

Not all degrees are created equal. Don't pay an arm and a leg for a degree that doesn't deliver. If you want a respected degree at an affordable price, U of A is the place to get it. It is located on a beautiful campus where the sun shines 360 days out of a year! My daughter received a scholarship to attend any of the three Arizona Universities and after researching the quality of the education, the campus, etc. we are convinced that U of A is the best school...it has the reputation such as more prestigious schools at a fraction of the cost. Brilliant! — —… read full review »

The University of Arizona is a good school in a beautiful town. The professors are interested in their students. There are plenty of opportunities to study for various careers. The arts are big here, and there are plenty of free or low cost concerts available. Sports are big here, with the basketball team being one of the best in the nation. And the football team is still developing. Of course, the wonderful, warm and sunny weather here is a big plus. — —… read full review »

I graduated from the U of A in May 2002 and I treasure the memories and friends I made there. I was a double major in Spanish and Political Science and I LOVED my professors. The Spanish department is pretty small (after the 200 level classes) so I got to know my professors well and was able to participate in U of A's study abroad program in Alcala de Henares, Spain for a semester, which I highly recommend. The Political Science department was much bigger and offered a huge variety of classes, so I was able to focus my major in one of the 6 specialized fields under the PoliSci umbrella.… read full review »

Recently, I visited the beautiful campus at the University of Arizona, where you can choose from 123 majors in a wide variety of fields of study. The community is remarkably diverse, with students from every state and 124 countries. — — During my visit, the tour guides were extraordinarily helpful and kind. The athletic programs consistently rank among the top ten in overall performance. Both the men's basketball and women's softball teams are exceptional. — — The University of Arizona also hosts hundreds of clubs and organizations and has one of the nation's… read full review »

I graduated from UofA in 2004 and look fondly upon my experience. The city was amazing; the campus was beautiful; the education was great; and the amenities for students are excellent as well. However, many of the students come from well-to-do backgrounds, which can be a bit intimidating if, like me, you did not. Also, a lot of students were heavily involved with the "social scene" (drinking, partying, etc.), which I found to be a bit annoying. However, the cons are far outweighed by the pros, considering that you can get a quality education for less than $10,000 a year (if you're from out of… read full review »

This looks like a good place to learn, if I wasn't already going to school at a different place I probably would try to take classes here. Since I am taking classes at Emporia state university, a university in Kansas, I really do not have much choice. But if I lived in arizona and was of the same age and situation I am now, I would probably go there. It seems to have a solid academic program, and it seems to be pretty well known for it's sports programs as well. — … read full review »

The U of A bills its self as a top leval school. And for the price this may be true. It is not the part school you find in big Western cities. But it is far from a top level school. The Arizona government does not pay top dollar for professors. You'll end up with an Estern European  or grand student leading you on an American guidline.  Go… read full review »
