My boys love Union Bay Cargo Shorts and especially the cami style. Blame it on the South. The boys around here just seem to love to look like hunters even if they are writers and artists. Mine have never been hunting, but they do love fishing and hiking and other outdoor stuff. They also love to play sports like football.
Older son came home yesterday with a big rip in his Union Bay cargos. He hoped I could fix them. I'm rather hopeless other than fixing seams and sewing together square pillows. This looked like a job for Maw. Maw is my Mom. She was going to be Mam-maw, but you know how it goes. The boys couldn't manage all that, so she got dubbed Maw.
Maw said these really were "shot," but she could put a patch behind the rip, and older son could keep playing football in them. This means that he will most surely wear them to school. Sigh.
Younger son said these were his shorts anyway, and that older son took them and kept them. So, younger son got a new pair of the same to break in. He will probably hide his, so his brother who is older and not much bigger will not steal his not-yet-ripped shorts.
My boys are very hard on clothes, so don't think that the rip thing is a sign to not buy these. They had some heavy mileage. They got ripped during a football game.
We've got some other cargos by Union Bay in solid colors. Those are worn a lot too, but the camis have been the ones to go through the washer over and over as fast as I can get them clean and back in the drawers.
I'll check the mall and see if I can find some. It's end of season, so I don't know. If I do find the Union Bay Cargos in cami, then I'll get some extras. The boys have really loved them. They grow so fast at these ages that a lot of things get outgrown before worn out. That's not the case with Union Bay. They are favorites. Older son is very sad his are ripped. Younger son is looking worried about his pair. They are probably hidden somewhere. I just hope he puts them in the hamper to get washed. I suspect he'd rather have dirty Union Bay camis than none, so I sure will hope to find replacements for the older son.
