I've read a good many Uniden handset reviews here at Viewpoints, but none with the exact model number of my Uniden DXI5586-2 twin cordless set; therefore, I'm creating an  "Add it" ;)

Mr. Snell is not a great believer in modern technology, and was not at all interested in purchasing anything but a simple single cordless phone. (He's not an easy sell, either, much to my chagrin, at times!). As it stands, my office in on the upper floor of the cabin, and his smaller office is on the lower, so it just "made sense" for us, with our many daily phone calls to purchase a twin handset. That said, he wasn't about to invest a whole lot of cash into this venture.

I'd had very good results with my initial Uniden single handset/answering machine cordless, so I didn't really see any reason to shop around the brands. Though Uniden products do not offer much of a range outdoors (none of mine have - that's not to say virtually "all" of the products are the same), this product is perfect for our use. I believe we paid 39.95 for this duo in 2005

It's important to read the manual. It's slightly less important for you to know that we did not. heh. We'd had this set for a year before we figured out how to transfer a call. Once we got that straightened around, we really felt like "somebody"! Additionally, you have to know the requirements for re-charging and how to go about it. I find this easier than keeping up with my somewhat inferior cell phone and it's constant charge feed needs.

All in all, if you have need of more than one cordless phone in your home, office or shop and really don't want to spend megabucks on telephone hardware, I would recommend Uniden DXI5586 series. It has been reliable for us now for four years without a glitch (other than the manual neglect on our part!)

We're still loving ours, now that we know how to transfer the call from one to another! LOL

We just purchased a similar set also. I love it!

I have a set similar to this, and think it's great that we get more than one headset. I need to figure out about transferring calls too.

Got a kick out of your time delay in learning how to transfer a call. I don't usually read manuals until something goes wrong. Guess that's when I really start to concentrate on the small print and the troubleshooting page. The main thing is: you DID learn to transfer calls.

Ya Ya sister bouncing around! My "Mrs. Keaton" is back! I love my Uniden cordless phones. I've had the same cordless phone in my living room for about 7 or 8 years and haven't even replaced the battery. Mine aren't as hi-tech as yours though ;+) So glad to see you and "Mrs. Keaton" again ;+)
