When I decided to make the leap to Vonage, which is VOIP (that's voice over internet for the acronym challenged), I decided to get a new set of cordless phones because my existing model was older and I couldn't add handsets to it.
Because voice mail is a standard part of Vonage you don't need an answering machine on your phones and it was difficult to find several handsets w/o the answering machine feature. After searching, I finally found the Uniden 4 handset bundle. It had many attractive features that appealed to me, such as the speakerphone option on each handset, personalized ringers, visual ring indicator to mention a few.
Well, I've had the phones a little over a year and already the scroll button on all 4 handsets no longer works. This is very unhandy when you're trying to see who has called or when you're trying to find a number in your directory....no, it's aggravating!!!!
Then I remembered that I had another Uniden phone several years ago and determined I wouldn't buy another because it didn't work very well or very long. (Then why did I buy another you ask? Unfortunately, when you get older, your memory goes...)
My hope is that I will save some other poor, unsuspecting (or forgetful) person the pain of buying a Uniden phone.
I'm on my way to Best Buy to pick up a Panasonic phone-never have had problems with them!!!
