BOUGHT THIS UNIFLAME GRILL TO USE UNTIL I HAVE MY PATIO SCREENED IN, THEN A GAS GRILL WILL FOLLOW. IT DOES ALRIGHT FOR A CHEAP CHARCOAL GRILL BUT YOU CAN NOT RAISE THE COOKING AREA, IT HAS ONLY ONE LEVEL AND NO ASK BUCKET. IT CAME WITH A CRACKED FOOT PIECE THAT GOES ON THE BOTTOM OF ONE OF THE LEGS. THE PORCELIAN WAS CRACKED NEAR THE SIDE OF THE LID WHICK LEFT AN AREA NOT COATED. MY WIFE USUALLY COOKS ON IT BECAUSE SHE KNOWS HOW TO NOT BURN FOOD, WHICH I'M NOT GOOD AT DOING. IT WILL DO FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS.

Yes...the name is right.  It's a grill and that's all.  Yes, the side 'flip up tray' is handy.  But, the actual cooking surface leaves a lot to be desired.  Your food can only be grilled and not "barbecued".  What's the difference? Grilled food is cooked rather quickly...as in hamburgers, hot dogs & steaks.  Barbecued food is slow cooked - taking several hours, using indirect heat.  I like to cook slowly - to let the smokey flavor of all those wood chips take its full effect.  The **Uniflame Charcoal Grill** is very short on top also...not allowing the smoke & heat to twirl upwards & then flow back down around the meat.  It's impossible to make [beer can chicken][1]  using this grill.  It's simply not tall enough. The porcelain surface is also much cheaper than that of a quality [Weber One-Touch][2] .  After just a year or so...it may start flaking off.  I've had Weber's that lasted over 10 years - and then it got stolen!  Probably still had more life left in it. The uniflame grill is a nice, simple grill that gets the job done.  It does have a third burner on the right hand side of the grill, but ti sucks up the propane a bit fast for my taste.  The interior of the grill has a lower and upper rack which is great to keep food out of the direct heat and flame.  I would have preferred to have the lower rack have thin bars rather then thick ones, as I feel it is eaiser to keep clean that way. The construction of the grill was easy and took my dad and I about an hour to put together.  Definitely easier to do as a two-person job!  The portability of the grill is a whole other issue, however.  It has quickly become wobbly when rolled away from the house to grill and I will have to add some support beams this summer to make sure the frame lasts as long as the oven. The grill heats up quickly and does an adequate, but not excellent job of maintaining it's heat.  For the price, a good grill.
