After years of resisting the Ugg boots phenomenon, I gave in after slipping a pair on my feet. I used to talk trash about Uggs... like how every girl on the planet wears them, how they are called Uggs because they are "ugly!", and how ridiculously expensive they are. Well, I'm a changed woman. Ugg Australia makes the classic tall grey Ugg boots I purchased for $160. Yes, it hurt to pay that much but I believe I paid for a quality pair of winter boots that will last several seasons. Unfortunately, my Ugg boots are not water-proof so I paid an extra $5 for water resistant spray. Snow boots are an absolute necessity for survival of Chicago winters. The suede Uggs won't cut it for walking around in deep snow but they will keep your feet warm and toasty when it's cold outside. Uggs are comfortable, casual and super cozy. Ugg knock offs are everywhere at much cheaper prices but I had to go for the brand name this time. After doing a little research, it seems the quality of materials used to make Uggs are more durable and long lasting. For the sake of longevity I was willing to make the splurge. Now, I proudly march around the city with the rest of the Ugg-boot-wearing army of girls (and guys) who swear by them.

Ya know, I do feel slightly cute in them probably because I'm comfortable and warm. Plus, I really like the gray color. I hear ya one the skinny jeans... I can't pull those off. Not at all. I think you have to be a tooth pick to wear those things :)

Do you feel cute in them? I used to hate them too, but they are growing on me.... I'm strangely attracted to skinny jeans tucked into them, but I'm not brave enough to try it - I'm plus sized. Plus sized girls should just say NO to skinny jeans ;)

You called it! It's 14 degrees here with a wind chill at -7... YIKES! I could have ice skated to work this AM.

I hope they keep you warm - I heard real cold weather is heading toward Chicago next week!

Yes, these are great boots. I don't own any Uggs but I have tried some of my friends on and they were comfy cozy. I just can't afford to pay that much and we may see snow every 3-4 years.
