An Udder Cover is so much better than a blanket!

4

I bought this product to use with my second child as I just used a blanket with my first son. I was tired of the blanket getting batted off when I was trying to nurse him and wanted more security. The Udder Cover exceeded my expectations! The company had a promotion and I only had to pay shipping to receive the cover of my choice. The neck is adjustable so you control how close you need the cover to your body. I do with that it was more of a clasp than a ring but then it wouldn't be adjustable! My favorite part is that the top of the cover has a piece of bendable plastic in it so you can (and only you) can still look down at baby without having to move the cover around. It is very large to cover everything and washes easily. The only downside is that the fabric definitely fades after just one wash.

I just plain don't like Udder Covers

No, if I had paid for this (it was a hand-me-down), I would be very angry. Also, if I had gone out expecting his product to me an easy and effective way to discreetly breastfeed without testing it first, I would be even angrier. One thing I need to add before I go any further is that I am completely comfortable just whipping out my breasts in public. I don't see a real need to be discreet. I'm feeding my baby, nothing to hide. First out all, even with all the different patterns available, no matter what you pick, you're going to look like you've got a towel on. Second, I cannot figure out how to get my nipple into babies mouth (my baby isn't even two months yet) without either sticking my head under the cover (difficult and awkward), or just at least flashing a little bit of nip and then covering. Third, wouldn't an apron be just as effective? And, lastly, who wants to have to remember one more thing to put in a diaper bag?

Great for ALL Nursing Mothers!

I absolutely love this nursing cover. I am very modest and nursing in public in general makes me very uncomfortable, especially when its me personally that is doing it. I don't want someone to look over and see something that only my husband and myself should see, so I'm glad these covers exist! I also feel like breastfeeding is a very personal and special bonding moment, and I don't want to share that with tons of strangers I don't know. These covers keep it a personal and special experience, and keeps you covered at the same time. I even take this cover with me when we visit each grandparent's house because I know that our parents don't want to catch a glimpse of anything as our son is latcihng on or pulling off while we're nursing. I know that they are all very appreciative of this cover as well. I've even ordered a couple as baby gifts for friends and family members who intend to nurse. Definitely recommend this product!

A must have for nursing moms!

I bought 2 Udder Covers while nursing my son, and used them all the time!  With my first child, I never found a good cover-up to use and wasn't coordinated enough with a blanket (too difficult to see the baby while also keeping everything covered and using my hands to clip and unclip nursing bra, adjust clothes, etc.!), so I had to virtually isolate myself every time I needed to breastfeed her around other people.  I was so thankful the second time around to discover these cover-ups.  The rigid band around the top allows for an opening down which you can see your child but no one else can see in unless they are right on top of you.  Hands are left free, and you are completely covered!  I'm sure some of the more expensive versions are better quality - I had some difficulty with it coming undone sometimes and had to redo it while trying to stay covered, and also my first one shrunk a bit in the wash so I ordered another one.  I did not dry my second one at all, and it stayed fine that way.  One other criticism is that it would be nice if they were bigger or could go around the body more, so that my sides and back did not show when lifting up a form fitting shirt.  But these always have free codes where you just have to pay the S&H, making them super cheap and a great deal for what you pay.  So I think they are well worth it if you are looking for an affordable cover to breastfeed discreetly in public!

Love Them!

Udder Covers is a tongue in cheek garment designed to assist mothers who need to nurse in public places but desire privacy and discretion.  A rectangular shaped fabric with two straps on top connected by rings allowing for adjustment.  A one size garment with lots of coverage for all sizes.  Boning in the top neck area allows a line of sight between mom and baby.  Light weight fabric that, if in designs other than white, are not see through.  Able to be purchased for a cheap price with promotions that are constantly available, the cost is not bad at all, and in comparison to similar products, is a much better value.  High quality, able to be tossed in the wash and come out ready to use again.  There are many designs and colors available.  A fantastic gift for the new mom and great to have more than one of, I keep one for home (when visitors are around) and one for the diaper bag.  I absolutely LOVE this product.

Never Leave Home Without It

The Udder Cover brand nursing coverup is the best thing ever! I got one of these for free with just paying shipping from an email promotion. I wondered what it would be like since it was free but oh my gosh it is the best thing ever! The Udder Cover nursing coverup is well made and features a plastic insert that keeps it open at the top so you can peek in at your little one while she nurses. I got the lavender colored cover up and the color is so pretty. I never leave home without it. It folds up nicely in my diaper bag and it doesn't seem to wrinkle. I never leave home without it. It is so much better than trying to nurse with a blanket as this covers you so well and doesn't slide or shift to offer "peek holes". I would recommend this as a "must have" item for any nursing mom. If you are planning on purchasing one I  would recommend that you contact the company to be on their email list in case they offer the free offer again.

Udder Covers are great - if you get them nearly free.

I have been breastfeeding for 22 months (not consecutively) with 2 baby boys.  I am quite a modest person. I thought these covers would be what I needed, but for a variety of reasons, they are not.  I used a special code to get a cover nearly free with just paying shipping.  The cover was worth about what I paid. The designs are quite cute and stylish. The fabric is quite thin (great for summer but may not be as discrete as some would like). The ring for the neck strap is a little hard to use one-handed. The concept of the boning in the front that allows you to peek in to see baby is nice, but it didn't work well for me.  I am quite petite (under 5 feet). I found that anyone who was near me could see down just as well as I could. I also wish the fabric was longer. I am not overweight, but I definitely want to keep my post baby belly under wraps. At this point, I no longer use a cover of any sort while in public. I have found that a cover announces to everyone that I am breastfeeding and would make me more nervous. I am able to show no skin at all by using a sling/wrap while wearing a nursing tank under my top. I get baby latched on and use my shirt to cover from the top and the tank hides my belly. It looks like baby is just sleeping. With that said, if an Udder Cover (I really don't like the cow reference) helps a mom breastfeed her baby, I am all for it.

udder covers provide quick and easy cover up

i ordered a udder cover a few months before my due date. I was bound and determined i was going to breast feed. I got a great deal on it and was really excited. I got it in the mail and was really impressed with the quality of it, the fabric was soo pretty and soft! Well, my son was born without any desire to latch on to anything! needless to say i have resorted to pumping and bottle feeding but my udder cover has still come in really handy. I pump alot in the car, as we have to travel so far for doctors appointments or to go shopping. It works great to cover myself so i can pump without the trucker next to me getting a eye full of me. I love how the top pops out so i can see what i am doing, to make sure i am not leaking breastmilk all over my lap. i could imagine if you were breastfeeding it makes it really nice to be ablt to keep eye contact with your baby and see what is all going on. I would recommend it to any of my friends that are thinking about breastfeeding. I also ordered reusable nursing pads from udder covers that are amazing!

Wonderful product for nursing in public!

Before I was a stay-at-home mom, I worked in the medical field, so I am very pro-breastfeeding.  I am also VERY modest.  For alot of people putting the words breastfeeding and modest in the same sentence seems like a contradiction!  At first, I tried to feed my babies with simply a light receiving blanket placed over them.  This worked fine for my first child, but by the time I had a second, I found that this was too difficult.  Inevitably, while trying to take care of my 3 year old, and breastfeeding at the same time, the blanket would fall off or the baby would pull it off, creating a very embarrassing situation.  I tried several different covers, but my baby would always pull and "fight" at them, until I found Udder Covers.  It is a large rectangle cover made of light weight cotton, with an adjustable strap that goes around your neck.  The amazing thing about this cover is that it has a whale-bone piece of plastic inserted in the top allowing you to keep eye-contact with your baby, but not allowing others to see what you are doing.  I am in love with this cover!  It is great for those of you who are "busy" moms, and need to breastfeed on the go!  It is a little "pricey" compared to the other brands that are out at your local retailers, but having tried all of them, it is definitely worth every penny.

I bought two Udder Covers, one is great, and one is not.

While I was pregnant, I found a promotional code for a dramatically reduced Udder Cover gift set on a blog, so I ordered one. The shipping is a tad high, but I didn't mind since the items were nearly free. Although the first one I ordered was on backorder, it arrived less than two weeks later. The packaging was simple, and I was satisfied with what I saw. I received another promotional code via email, and decided to order a second cover for back up. This cover was also promptly shipped and looked fine. Upon using them, I discovered that the fabrics are a little thin and see through even though I ordered the darker prints. I also cannot wear one of them because the stainless steel rings that hold the neck strap in place do not work, which causes the cover to just fall off of me when I use it. I've contacted them and am awaiting a response. Overall, the cover I have that does work is fine. I like the prints, and it does the job. If a promotional code is offered, it's a good deal compared to the other brands.    As a side note, I wish they were a little longer because I am plus sized. I also love, love, love their reusable nursing pads that come with the gift set.
