So, I am 24 years old and have always thought that I was a reasonably healthy person. I participated in high school sports, but have not been so active since then. Although I had not gained weight from my lack of physical activity, it did not mean that I was a healthy person. A couple months ago I was introduced to USANA and the eye opening world of nutrition. One of the most important things that I have learned since was that over 80 degenerative diseases, through proper nutrition and healthy lifestyle, can be prevented! 75% of the world's population dies from something like cancer, heart disease, you name it!
USANA's products have been accredited for pharmaceutical Good Manufacturing Practices (WAY above and beyond and FDA regulations) and have been recognized as quality vitamins through third party verification. According to the Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements, USANA ranks one of the TOP FEW manufacturers of nutritional supplements. On a scale of 1-5 stars, USANA received a 5. Most other products were rated a 3 or less!!
Although I feel like a healthy person, the fact is that my body is going through oxidative stress/free radical damage. Oxidized cells seek out other cells and they become oxidized as well...it is the build up of oxidized cells which leads to a degenerative disease. However, through intake of antioxidants and other vitamins and minerals, our bodies are better able to fight against this oxidative damage. Since taking the nutritional supplements, I have felt a change in my body. It is difficult to explain, but its a feel-good feeling. I know that my path to optimal health begins with proper nutrition and supplementation. And I think of it this way....if I am willing to put money into maintaining my car, then I should me putting just as much money into maintaining my body. After all, shouldn't my body's ability to function come first?
If you already take a nutritional supplement, then chances are your vitamin isn't providing your body what it says it is. Follow me on Twitter if you have any further questions (myusana_ono). Chances are likely your vitamin was ranked in the Comparative Guide to Nutrition as well, I would love to tell you how your vitamin scored!
