Not meant to be a full-blown review. USAA deserves the accolades it gets. It has been such a pleasure using their Credit Card and dealing with their great customer service, especially after Bank One (now Chase) kept de-activating my fully-paid Visa "for security reasons," **without ever bothering to tell me they had done so** (I always learned the hard -- and often embarrasing -- way).
Anyway, last night I was more than a bit surprised to discover that USAA, without any advance warning, had reduced its telephone Credit Card CS hours from 24/7, to 8pm close M-F, 4pm close Sat, and no hours Sun. What a huge cut! How can a CC -- especially a major one -- have such short telephone CS hours?? There have been more than a few times I've had to call them outside these hours about, say, problem getting an online purchase through, and each time they solved the problem for me. Now I could have to wait quite awhile to resolve. This is a BIG demerit (the FIRST, and so far ONLY significant, one) I've seen from this CC. I'm perplexed, and frankly kind of shocked. USAA's whole reputation (including for insurance, etc, too, has been to be there to help when you need them).
