I cannot express how much I love USAA.  Right now I have checking, credit, auto loan, auto insurance and home owners insurance with them and have no interest in changing.  The only thing that could change would be auto insurance if we moved to a different state because one state that we lived in Progressive was several hundred dollars a year cheaper for the same coverage.  However where we are now, USAA is cheaper.  I wrote a separate review for the credit card so I'm not going to go into that too much... low interest rate, no fees, great customer service, easy online banking, and great rewards program.  My favorite service from USAA though is the checking account.  I LOVE it!  If you take out money at ATM's, not only do they not charge you a fee, but they actually reimburse the fees that the ATM's bank charged.  It is put directly back into your account once a month.  There is a limit, it's like up to 10 times and up to $15 or something like that but seriously that's a lot of times per month to be going to the ATM.  You also earn interest on the money in your checking this is great!  Its obviously not as much as a savings account (for that I do ING) but I always like to have a certain amount in checking for emergencies so if I am making interest on it, that can't be beat.  They offer FREE checks!  As soon as you start running out, you order more.  Now they are not the super fancy kind but still personalized.  Ours for instance have the Marine Corps logo, a quote that says "united we stand" and then on another part "proud to be an American".  We don't use a lot of checks so never really got our money's worth when we had to pay (even getting those cheap deals) so this is perfect.  If you use your debit card under the credit option, you earn cash back though it's not as much as using the USAA credit card so I'd still use that.  The reward account is shared with your credit/checking so if you do get points for your debit, it goes right in with the ones from your credit.  There is a feature where you can scan in your checks and they will deposit into your account and once cleared in a couple days, you can just shred them.  I'm actually too lazy to do this so I mail them in... you can request the deposit envelopes for free which are postage paid.  The website is VERY easy to navigate.   Making payments, transfers, etc only take a minute.  The customer service is great... very prompt, English speaking, helpful, etc.  I love every single thing about the checking and would rate the other services highly as well.
