USA Today Review Summary

Most cities have a newspaper or two but if you want a national newspaper, USA Today is likely at the top of your list. Reviewers like USA Today for its nationwide coverage, its timeliness, and its color photos on all pages. The statistics are also enjoyable and reviewers like USA Today’s status as the so- called Nation’s Newspaper. USA Today is “My Favorite Source of News” and “If I Go a Day Without USA Today, I am Lost”. In spite of these words of praise, however, USA Today is not without its critics. Some reviewers do not like the lack of imagination, the lack of depth, and the lack of coverage. This crowd feels that USA Today is “OK, but Not the Best” and it adds up to a newspaper that is good, but far from perfect. Want to read more? USA Today is geared towards a reader who prefers knowing more about footbal and Oprah than about serious news. I recall that when this paper was first published in the mid 1980s, the box from which it was dispensed was designed to look like a television. Could I PLEASE get a little depth with my morning news??

USA Today is all about shallow reporting, inadequate coverage, and thin details. Their slant is too conservative and too carefully inoffensive to provide any real value behind their opinion pages. Their idea of "World News" is to mention something about prisoners held in Guantanamo without benefit of trial and in violation of human rights accords, but without actually telling it like it is lest they offend Bush's cronies in Washington.

Useless, wimpy, thin newspaper that lacks substance. Who needs it?

USA today is a very modern newspaper - searching for nonbias news coverage and supplemented by lots of colors and graphs. USA today also provides a lot of background information for more comprehensive stories than most papers... This is a great source of some news - but probably the biggest problem is the limited scope of the newspaper and the need for similar newspapers of its national kind to provide more indepth coverage for us all! Hopefully other newspapers will take USA todays lead with the graphs and indepth national coverage!

USA Today is a good travel paper and great to grab at a hotel during a stay. The TV listings are helpful for travel and is the sports coverage. Harder to keep up with sports while traveling. I also like the weather coverage and the puzzles and entertainment sections. Perfect paper to read while waiting or traveling, light news in smaller stories. I like it but its not one that I would subscribe to at home.

USA Today is hands down the best source of national news. Aside from the BBC website it's the only source of news I read on a daily basis. It covers all national topics of interest and some other things that most local supermarket rags don't cover at all or sugarcoat to various degrees. I love that the pictures provided are in color as well. Editors and writers for USA Today should keep up the great job.

I can't wait to sign on to the elecvtronic version of USA Today each and every day. There is so much information in bitesize pieces. After I read USA TOday, if something interests me, I find the information elsewhere to fill in the gaps. USA Today is an awesome place to start the day. I just wish there was a way for them to publish two or three times a day.

One of the top papers out there today, its journalists are talented and their stories are nearly always top notch. Sometimes the articles are more "PC" than I would like, though the information is generally well processed and set up that even laymans could understand.

This paper is really good but I think my local paper gives more insite than USA Today that is a sad thing for USA today I think they focus on money than anything else and the weather section LOL sucks I would rather get my paper out of a toliet than read this

Too many copies printed and costs too much at 75 cents per copy when other papers are 50 cents.
