Why didn't I install this sooner? For almost a year, I had been looking for an easy way to play music on my iPhone in my car (a 2006 Volkswagen Passat). With no cassette player in the car, no Bluetooth A2DP capability on the iPhone, and no use for sub-par FM adapters, I figured I was out of luck for the time being. I had heard of iPod interface adapters that hooked right into the back of a factory installed radio, but I questioned if they would work with the iPhone. It turns out they do, with just a few caveats.

I consider myself to be fairly technical: I was an aircraft jet engine tech for a number of years.  I was truly psyched about installing this for my G3 IPOD mini and I was truly dissatified since it did not work at all.  All the application charts indicate that It clearly supports my 2006 VW Passat.

 The installation is fairly easy, but hind sight I would have opted for on that connects in the glove box due to the routing of the cable.

I have XM sattelite installed and that part worked fine, however the IPOD did not work in hybrid or direct mode....
