USA SPEC - iPod Interface Review

I consider myself to be fairly technical: I was an aircraft jet engine tech for a number of years.  I was truly psyched about installing this for my G3 IPOD mini and I was truly dissatified since it did not work at all.  All the application charts indicate that It clearly supports my 2006 VW Passat.

 The installation is fairly easy, but hind sight I would have opted for on that connects in the glove box due to the routing of the cable.

I have XM sattelite installed and that part worked fine, however the IPOD did not work in hybrid or direct mode.

If you read most of the blogs on VW with the IPOD, it is a flawed installation, however the manufacturer of these devices charge a good sun of money for these (These devices are not cheap), I am willing to deal with some flaws
