US Cellular  —

U.S. Cellular offers good service in general, but if you're interesting in keeping in touch with family and friends via long distance, then be sure NOT to choose a "Local Long Distance" plan. If you make/receive long distance calls outside of your "Local Long Distance" area, you will be charged "extra" on your monthly statements.

Great review but I think you're confusing long distance with roaming. Long distance (calling someone far away from "home") is free on all U.S. Cellular plans. Roaming (calling while traveling away from "home") is included on their National Plans but is extra on their Wide Area plans

go with a National plan no long distance or roaming charges. We are improving our phone selection. We have some great new ones.
