I was a prepaid phone user, looking for a company to get a cell plan through. I had narrowed my search down to two providers. Altel and US Cellular.

My Marine was 'at war' at the time, due to come home, but I was not sure of his ETA in the states. One night my home phone rang and the caller ID gave a US Cellular number. I answered and found out my son had just arrived stateside.

One of the people there to greet he and his fellow Marines on their homecoming, was a US Cellular employee. This person handed out cell phones to the Marines, and said, make as many calls as you like, talk all you want.

So within minutes of 'getting home'.... my son was on the other end of the line, as glad to hear my voice as I was to hear his.

I emailed US Cellular first thing the next morning and thanked them profusely. My email was promptly answered, and not by a computer generated response, but by a person. Who thanked me in return for my praise and for my son's service to our country, and genuine joy at his homecoming safely.

I've had US Cellular service for years now, and I wouldn't change for anything. In these years I have had one dropped call. The connection is more clear than a land line....
and I will never forget the joy and relief US Cellular gave this mom, in hearing her son's voice after a year of silence.
