US Bank Review Summary

Credit cards range from the basic to the deluxe, and one credit card that tries to help its cardholders by giving something back to them is the USA Bank Platinum Visa. Like most platinum cards, the USA Bank Platinum Visa is praised most for its rewards system and reviewers like that they can get free things for making ordinary purchases and using the USA Bank Platinum Visa. “Love the Free Airplane Trips”, says one reviewer, but others have opposing opinions, like one reviewer who pointed out that with the USA Bank Platinum Visa, “The Small Guy Loses”. High annual fees and fees for basic services make the USA Bank Platinum Visa a Credit Card with more cons than pros.

When our child was in high school, we found out about this particular credit card and signed up. Later when she went to college out of state, we had free plane tickets to visit the college and later for her to travel back and forth. So far we have gotten 12 free $800 plane tickets and only had to buy...

I have had really good experiences with my checking account I hold with US Bank.

I recieved free checks and debit card when I created the account and have free online banking with it. They've even waived some overdraft fees for me from time to time.

I have had nothing but good experiences with the employees...

After Hurricane Katrine they were difficult to deal with nasty and rude. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. With all the frustration after the storm with tring to find honest contractors and working and living in an apartment while having to work on my house myself, only one time I recieved 1 common sense solution from a manager which I almost had to beg for. Stay away from this company. I did not choose them they bought my mortgage from a broker. So be sure you know who is buying your mortgage. If they were in my area I would have paid them a visit and probably would have been... review »

customer since 2000. credit card number was stolen. usbank ended up honoring all the charges because some of the receipts were unsigned - yes - unsigned and those that were signed, they admitted was nothing like my signature. despite this fact, and my witness and my police report, they decided that they should honor all the charges but give me a $10 refund as a courtesy!
i can't make this stuff up - i know it sounds crazy - but this is what happened. i have spent all night posting as many reviews all over to spread the word - they won't help you!!!

There's only one word that can describe US Bank - greed.

Our experience with US Bank began in 2006, when we made the switch about our old bank, UMB, decided to have a computer malfunction for a few days when we couldn't touch our money. To make matters worse, their customer service lines weren't open 24/7. After this, we made the switch.

At first it was fine. You get free checks (initially) and a free debit card, fully customized of course. There are branches anywhere, meaning that when we made the move to our new neighborhood about 20 miles away from our first home, we easily found a branch. There...

I have been with US Bank for over a year now.  There are definite good and bad things; however, some of their methods are a little questionable.  The one huge issue I have with them is that they process their debits before their credits each night.  So if you deposit a check into your account on Saturday, on Monday they will process everything else first before they deposit your check.  That left me overdrawn and they wouldn't do anything about it.  They basically do that so they can get as many fees as possible.  Not cool in my book personally.

Plain and simple this bank is run by a bunch of thieves. Very shady and mysterious overdraft fees and innacurate online banking. I really hope someone is investigating their practices. Do a search on the web and you will find hundreds of complaints from people that got scammed by US Bank. They are not just another bad bank they are an evil institute that is messing with their account holders lives. I am absolutely serious. Avoid this bank.

Well, first of all i just want to say that US Bank and others like it are all the same. They are not for the small guy. I over-drafted over 540 dollars here even tho I had deposited cash money in before they took the money out for my CC purchases. than on top of that they took 18 overdrafts and split them into 3 days because they only allow 6 perday on top of that they charge you buy dollar amount first not by order of withdrawel. I think there should be laws on how BANKS do thier thievery but we the consumers should start pulling our money out and depositing it into banks that are for the...

When times run short and you think Us Bank will help you well think again. When you a short a little this bank wants to run you into the ground. When I ran short because something happened and I was scammed Us Bank basically said it is your fault and we will not help you. I have gone into the negative because of this and they want to charge me for getting into the negative when one of their associates told me i was in the clear and not to worry about it they didn't have much sympathy and said it was my fault and I have to fix it. After they put me into the negative becaue i did nothave the money... review »

They charge overdraft before the amount is even posted on line. Even though my balance never dropped below 0, they charged a $35 overdraft charge because they said if it had been posted my account would have been $1.20 in the negative. Even the bank manager would not budge on this. We have banked with US bank for a long time, their customer service is getting worst and we will be moving to another bank. They are rude, inflexible and do not value their customers. Look somewhere else.

This particular corporation does nothing for their clients. They even charge people you write checks to $5.00 to cash them, what a scam. There is one location where I took five checks in to cash and the teller actually charged me $25.00 as a check cashing fee. They have the power to waive it because some do. It is just their little power trip. I make sure I let my clients know they are paying me an extra $5.00 because their bank will charge me to cash the check. I hate banks.

Not only did their sales rep LIE to me about what I could do with an equity line, but now I've learned that the only thing I can do online is LOOK at my account. Can't pay it, can't pay from it. Total waste of my credit. It's been this way for nearly a year and all the internet people can tell you is 'sorry,' that's the way our system is. Avoid US Bank. Go someplace where their system and service is up to speed and in line with 2009 technology!

So I always thought that available balance meant that you had that much available. Not at US Bank. I had a that they appeared to clear and showed up as an available balance until 10 days later when my account suddenly showed up negative. I was sure that this was wrong so I went in to see what had happened. I guess that when I was doing my banking I forgot to sign the back of my check. Why I never got a call about this I am not sure. Instead they didn't contact me at all and every purchase from the time I deposited the check to now (11 days later) has got an overdraft charge on it in excess... review »

I've been a US Bank customer for more than 6 years now.  The reason I became a customer was because I was going away to college and needed a bank that was convenient both at home and at school.  This convenience factor has also been the reason that I have stayed a customer - the only reason.  I am now in the process of closing my bank account there and moving to another bank that actually cares about my business.

US Bank advertises that they offer "5-star" service and they really try to get to know you.  I've seen very little of that in all my contact with them.  Any time that I have had...

You can trust what I am saying as a previous employee at U.S. Bank. They get you on so many ridiculous overdraft charges... I mean I just worked there but I felt guilty for all the customers paying large amounts for something so small... A 37.50 overdraft charge plus 8.00 a day... And there were a few instances where they charged customers and I couldnt find the cause.

Also they have promotions where they offer $75.00 to open a new checking account which requires you to use your debit card... This is there way of making the feature look good but they plan to get it all back in overdraft fees....
