I have had really good experiences with my checking account I hold with US Bank.

I recieved free checks and debit card when I created the account and have free online banking with it. They've even waived some overdraft fees for me from time to time.

I have had nothing but good experiences with the employees at all the branches I have been to. My ex banks with a competitor and the tellers mess up so often on his transactions but I have never had a teller be anything but efficient and friendly at US Bank. Added bonus, they have a policy evidently not to give cash back when you make a deposit and are overdrawn but they have waived it for me every time.

Also, since it is a large bank I can find an ATM anywhere if I need it in addition to branches being convenient to both homes I've lived at since I've been with them and convenient to the location I work at (all within walking distance).

However, the Visa credit card I had through them gave me trouble. I started having financial trouble and got behind on payments, accrued late fees, etc. I understand all those things are my fault and they are not my gripe. What is my gripe is that while I was struggling to pay it down the minute I got below another $100 amount (say I had $500 owed and got it down to $400) they would lower the credit limit (again with the example- they would lower it to $400) and the interest would accrue (or fees if I would late) and send the account over the credit limit and stick me with more fees. This was really aggrivating and I closed the credit account once I had it paid down.
