Most HelpfulI fly within the USA no less than 15 times a year, which I think of as fairly frequently. When I lived overseas, I travelled by air even more frequently - including international travel. I think I have a pretty decent idea of what passes for decent service these days. That said, it must also be said...

Most HelpfulAfter any long trip, almost everyone has at least one travel nightmare to tell. Fortunately we had only one, but it involved US Airways, as it always seems to when we travel. Because we frequently fly out of Charlotte, one of US Airways largest hubs, our international flight plans always involve flying...

This airline is like being in a "Goulag"- nobody smiles, there is in a couple of cases a feeling of open hostility, and I've never such a sense of being raped by a customer service staff as I had with US Airways.
It starts at check in, where you are charged for checking in one bag- heaven help you if you have more- it cost me an additional $40. Once at my destination I found out that my work required me to return...

It wasn't bad service, but it wasn't particularly good either. Flight left a little late from Seattle, and Philadelphia, and Islip on the return, but nothing major. My luggage showed up when I did. Snacks on the flight were OK. Like I said, I had no complaints, I was just a long way from thrilled. I believe my lack of enthusiasm was due to the attitude that seemed to prevail throughout my interactions with...

I always fly with Delta or Northwest(my favorite) but once I could not get a flight out of orlando so I chose US Airways they were not my first choice but hey what can you do. I was going to Binghamton, NY via PHI and there were trouble on all the legs of this trip. From MCO to PHI our flight was thirty minutes late getting in and 45 minutes late leaving. The plane was a A320 and the cabin was small and dirty it felt very gloomy inside, The seats were not comfortable at all and there was almost no leg room for the seats. The crew...
read full review »Let me start off by saying our flight was only a 20 minute flight from Phoenix to Tucson on a US Airways flight. Doesn't sound as bad as doing a 2 hour drive. Our flight was supposed to leave Phoenix at 136 pm. Approximately 20 minutes before we were supposed to leave- when we were supposed to be boarding- is when the flight crew began doing the checks- keep in mind this plane had just come from Tucson- the boarding agent came over the intercome and stated that there was something wrong with the plane, while they did not know what exactly is wrong with it maintenance was working on it. ...

They are a terrible airline with bad service. I fly them sometimes only because they have so many flights on the east coast. That means lots of chances for them to be late and lots of chances to leave you hanging.
You have a choice when you fly. Don't fly crappy airlines like US Airways!
Were were scheduled to fly out of Cancun when our flight was over an hour late because the crew hadn't shown up. At the airport, they kept calling for our crew to report to duty. Cancun is known for being a party place, so that made us rather nervous.
When we arrived at Phoenix (our layover), we were concerned about missing the next flight. However, many flights had been delayed due to a thunderstorm, so we had hope that we might still make it. We had to get off and go through customs, which was 1 1/2 miles away from the gate. The representatives from U.S. Air said that if we missed...

It's worth the price. Unless of course you have to check a bag because then you have to pay to check that bag. And because of this you get the people who carry on their 2 allowed bags that are as big as they can possibly be carried on. And if you are in the last zone to load you get the remark from the rude airline employee that you will have the "check that bag".
You no longer get a drink or snack for free. If I'm not mistaken, you can now only purchase drinks.. no snakcs. However, you can carry on anything you have bought from inside the airport...

On the outbound flight both our flights where delayed and our connection in PHL was very very hectic (had to run to make it).
On the return again the first flight was delayed and the second flight was not only delayed but they also had to make a stop to refuel (the plane was to heavy to depart with a full fuel tank.) I ended up get in at 1 am instead of 9pm.
On top of everything only one of our suitcases made it the other we didn't get until the next day.
