UPS Mail Innovations Review Summary

One disappointed reviewer summed up what most were feeling: "About as "Innovative" today as the Pony Express would be!" Our busy online shoppers wanted to love UPS Mail Innovations but just couldn't citing rude service, unusually long delays in delivery, and lack of tracking orders. UPS Mail Innovations is a service that picks up packages from other shippers and delivers them to the post office for shipping. That's the theory anyway. Our reviewers say to stay far away from this service if you can. There are a lot of kinks to work out before this service gets a thumbs up from our frustrated reviewers.

I stopped using Swanson Vitamins when they switched over to ParcelPool ~ delaying deliveries to 15 days. I switched over to Vitacost instead and then read that they also used a hybrid delivery service, UPS Mail Innovations. I was skeptical and, after reading some of the posts here, became more apprehensive....

Recently I purchased several items from drugstore.com. They notified me via e-mail when my order shipped and clicking on their odd tracking number took me to a UPS Mail Innovations website at www.ups-mi.net. Drugstore.com quoted me an estimated delivery date of about four days after my purchase. I waited...

Ok so, obviously something led me to search on google '' ups mail innovations complaints'', and this is why. I ordered 3 things from Jewelry Television, one on the 18th, and two on the 20th. Both were shipped on the 21st, and on the 23rd arrived 30 minutes away from my house at the 'sorting center' where they have not moved and today my friends is the 30th, yes, that would make it 7 whole days of 3 packages sitting 30 minutes away from my house. Mind you when I ordered, I was told to allow up to 10 days for delivery, but since talking to two customer service reps, has now changed to 14 business... review »

This is just a short review to let me blow off some steam.

UPS innovations is the WORST delivery system ever. I will gladly pay an extra 10 dollars any day to not use a system that has no desire to help a customer.

I ordered a little gift from SKin-It.com, just a cell phone cover no big deal. ( I cant imagine something that had importance or needed to be here by a certain date!) I ordered it September 8th and the "UPS" part of the Journey took it to Erie PA (my home town where I work and my office shares a parking lot with the main USPS branch) in 2 DAYS! not bad for free shipping.

Thats where the...

UPS Mail Innovations is absolutely ridiculous.  I ordered a dvd from a movie website on 12/14, the website explained it would be delivered in time for Christmas. And wouldn't you know it's now the 27th and I still haven't received the gift for my husband.

This company didn't even disclose it was using this crappy service.  I absolutely detest the "service".  If more companies pick up on this UPS/USPS innovations it may be the end of the internet purchasing era as we know it.  It should not take 15+ days to get a dvd in the mail.  If they sent it UPS only I figure I should have had it in 2-3...

I don't know HOW this unholy alliance came to be, but it is a match made in hell.

I saw another reviewer mentioned an order from Drugstore.com, but they aren't the only merchant using them.  I've seen some quite reputable merchants use this service (Not that Drugstore.com isn't reputable by any means), and have been very disappointed because of the LONG SHIPPING TIMES.

I'm not sure how exactly they manage to do it, but they can take a package from Massachusetts to Connecticut, and make it take about TWO WEEKS.  I wasn't there, so I can't attest to it, but I bet there were faster deliveries...

UPS Mail Innovations sucks. I have been waiting over two weeks for a package that has not yet been delivered. The UPS-MI Tracking shows that it was handed over to USPS 9 days ago in Boston. I live in Cambridge, a suburb 15 minutes away from Boston. But the package has not moved in 9 days. USPS tracking shows no news after the "acceptance" in Boston (transfer from UPS) 9 days ago. And UPS refuses to issue a trace or ask USPS about it until 21 days have passed!?

The merchant I ordered from (ANTOnline--NEVER order from them--beware, they are on Amazon Marketplace and you should AVOID them!) says they...

Any one of these SNAFUS will leave you pulling out your hair:

#1 - Confusing business!
The relationship between UPS and the US Postal Service is deliberately vague on the website, which is presented like an ordinary UPS page.

#2 - Confusing info on web page.
When you check your package's "status", the terminology is so vague that you are clueless as to the meaning. The website info is also updated as much as a day late, leaving the impression that your package is either lost or delayed for no apparent reason.

"No problem", you say, "I'll just call UPS"....

#3 - No help from UPS !
People at UPS don't recognize...

This is the worst shipping program ever! Would rather pay higher fees to guarantee my package will be here is a reasonable amount of time. Or, even use USPS- they ar more reliable than UPS Mail Innovations.  I run a business, and this program has caused nothing but hedaches for me and my customers. DO NOT ever ship anything Mail Innovations- unless you don't care if it takes 2 weeks to reach its destination!

I placed an online order with Books-a-Million and chose their free-shipping option.  When I learned that the package would ship via "UPS Mail Innovations," of course I had to Google that phrase since this was the first time I had heard it.  The Google result led me to this discussion group and all its horror stories, but at that point it was too late for me to do anything about my book order.

In fact, I had a different experience from the others who posted to this site.  Books-a-Million did provide me with a tracking number which worked just like other UPS and FedEx tracking numbers, and my...

I'd never heard of this service until I ordered a single sports t-shirt online and paid $6 for 3-5 day shipping.  The next day I get a shipping confirmation with an Innovations tracking number and a note that I can expect my item within NINE days.  The tracking number they gave me was useless for 48 hrs.  Then, I find that my item is waiting for the Post Office to pick it up from UPS, with no updated delivery time beyond November 25th.

I can just imagine how screwed up everyone's holiday shipping will be with Innovations. This is customer service at it's worst. Clearly a cost-cutting measure...

This is the second time I have had something shipped by UPS Innovations.  The first time it passed in front of my house twice before getting here (NJ to Kansas City, MO and Kansas city to St. Louis, Mo) because I live between the two cities.  The delivery took 11 days.

This last time (which I have yet to receive) was 5 days for UPS to get from California to St. Louis, MO (passed my house again....) which is acceptable.  Now it is in la-la land.  Even the shipper can't track it from the St. Louis post office to the final destination.  AND, you have to wait 15 BUSINESS days to even put in...

I ordered 2 separate xbox 360 items on 2 separate occasions through buy.com within a matter of about 2 weeks.  I never received the 1st item and no tracking information was ever available on UPS mail innovations.  After calling buy.com several times and only speaking to ppl in India, they said they would file a claim but refund my money.  I didn't want a refund, I wanted them to send me the controller I ordered.  I haven't heard from them since.  Now I find out that the same thing has happened to the xbox 360 live 12 month service I ordered.  No tracking information is available on the site... review »

I ordered for a MP3 player from a online store for a gift to my brother and on the website they have mentioned no where that if the weight  of the package was less than a pound they would mail it via UPS Innovatipons. I Orederd it on Sep14th and till today i have not yet received it, i need it since my bro will be leaving  by this weekend. When i called up the seller, he blamed the UPS, when i called the UPS they blamed USPS and when i called USPS no one to help me.......they take turns in blaming eachother. the seller told me that i have to wait for 21 days to get the money back.........never...

UPS innovatons took more then 8 days to move my small package from the St. Louis post office to my house in Ferguson missouri (less than five miles away)

With UPS innovations there is tracking up to the point that UPS turns the package over to the post office.

At that moment when the hand over occurs from the largest private shipper to the largest goverment backed shipper in the world......

All responsibility ends.... All tracking ends... All information about your package evaporates and your package enters a purgatory where it sits for an indeterminable length of time.
