No Grip Whatsoever When Road is Even Damp

1

Several times on damp (not wet, just damp) roads the back end of my 1996 Mazda Miata broke free on curves on asphalt roads. I should have dumped them then, but alas, I didn't. Last week on damp roads on a freeway entrance ramp the rear tires lost all traction and the car did a 360, slammed into the curb, bending a wheel and blowing out the tire, and, going only 10 mph with still absolutely no grip on the road, rebounded, crossed the ramp, and kissed the guardrail with its nose. I was going only about 30 mph at the beginning of the slide and the tires never grabbed the road again. I have ordered new tires and am not driving the car until they arrive so I can have them mounted. My advice: avoid these tires at all cost!

Wiedest tire pattern ever!

1

Tire tread pattern on drivers side OK,on passenger side, goes facing road, not enogh traction. Tire cannot be rotated to pass.side. Only wrks. on Drivers side. Truck does not stop, it slides. Have spent $600.00 on Brake work & trk. still slides on rh/frt. wheel.

All Season does not equal Cold Season.

Overall, its ok. Let's focus on what works, first. The Tigerpaw tire does very well during the summer in South Carolina. It's a great value tire that tends to perform better than its price point. Dry road grip is very impressive, even when temps get very hot on the mix of asphalt, concrete, and some new type of material used on I-385. There's little difference when the tire transfers to each material, so compared to other tires we score great here. Wet traction is what I would expect out of a tire like this, too. It has enough channeling to make me feel comfortable, but I would still be more cautious in soaking rains (we should be in any soaking rain). Durability is great as well. Again, we are talking about a great value tire. Now take all of this and drop the outside temps below 40 degrees for continual periods. All of the nice qualities of the tire can effectively be thrown out the window. Fortunately for South Carolina, we rarely have snow and a rain storm can raise the ambient temperature by a good 10 to 15 degrees, effectively eliminating the 40 degree temp issue. It's the dry traction that worries me most in colder weather. The tires will start to complain under stress and you don't exactly feel very confident in turns that you normally would have taken with no issue in the spring/summer. And this coming out of an all-season tire is remarkable, but not in a good way.

These tires are not Winners!

3

I purchased these tired on the recommendation of the person at the tire shop. These are not good tires at all. I purchases all four tires on my daughters car since she was not permitted to do highway driving, only driving around town, to school, shopping, those sorts of things. These tires did not last a complete season, let alone all four seasons. The front tires became bald within 2-3 months, making this unsafe for her to drive in the winter months. I initially thought maybe the front alignment was off, had it checked, told it was fine. However, I was told the tires were bad as the tires were bubbling on the inside and would have to be replaced, which explained why they were balding on the outer portion of each of the front tires. The back tires are a whole another story. They were constantly flat, would not hold air. Initially thought I had a slow leak , or maybe even a hole in the tire, however they were just bad tires, dry rot completely through the tire. I would definitely not recommend these tires at all.

Wear really well on my Subaru!

I have a set of Uniroyal Tigerpaw All Season Tires on my old Subaru Forester. I got them from a tire store that I trusted and I told them that I needed a good set of all weather tires but at a very affordable price. They do really well in the snow but I do have a Subaru so I couldn't say for sure how they would be on a front wheel drive vehicle. But I like my Uniroyal Tigerpaw All Season Tires and they have lasted for a really long time, I think that I have about 30,000 miles on them and they are still wearing really well. I live in a seriously snowy climate but I don't change out to snow tires in the winter I just leave on my Uniroyal Tigerpaw All Season Tires and they seem to get me where I want to go. I did ask the tire guy what to set the pressure at for the Uniroyal Tigerpaw All Season Tires and he said that if I wanted long life, (I do) then I should keep the pressure at 35 psi even though it wouldn't be as smooth of a ride. So maybe that is another reason they have lasted so long. I recommend the Uniroyal Tigerpaw All Season Tires!

Excellent value.

I have these tires on my wife's 2004 Dodge Durango and on my 2008 Hyundai Sonata Limited. They have given me great service on both vehicles in dry, wet and snow covered roads. They run quiet and if rotated and balanced at least once a year I expect to get at 70,000 miles out of them.

I love these tires.

I bought an Impala which came with Tiger Paw tires on it.  They have lasted 65,000 miles so far, and never had a problem with them.  I think they are well worth the money, when is comes time to replace them.  Who knows maybe I'll get 100,000 miles out of the original set.  Worry free...  that's for me!

Best tire for the price!

The tires have been around for ever. Still some of the best A/S tires for the price. These tires wear well, the last set was replaced with 62,123 on them. Even better than traction in the snow is their rain traction. Rabbit starts wont spin with Buick 3800 engine. Stopping ability is excellent and takes curves well when wet.

Good traction and tread life

4

I am not sure if this is currently manufactured.  I had tigerpaws on a 1984 GMC 1500 pickup and was very pleased.  I typically had heavy loads so sidewall strength was important to me.  Good traction and tread life, performed very well.
