When I woke up on Tuesday morning with the worst sore throat I've had in probably my whole life, I went online and looked up Sore Throat Remedies.  The first thing to come up was an advertisement for Tylenol Cough & Sore Throat.  I was intrigued because it was a liquid and I'm so used to being forced to take lozenges for my past sore throats.  Of course that means when my husband was going to the store for me, all I said was to get me something liquid!  Turns out Tylenol was the only brand that made this for Sore Throats, or at least the only one he could find.

Liquid feels great going down!
I don't know why everyone else sucks on lozenges!  This liquid medicine was an instant pain reliever on my throat.  It didn't make the pain go away forever, but for at least a few minutes after drinking each time, my throat felt that cool burst sensation that the product claims.  Because of this, I will never again get a lozenge, they are useless by comparison.

The feeling lasts a long time!
It's not all about the instant cooling sensation, but instead about the fact that for about 5 hours after taking this, my throat feels almost at 90%.  The product is taken every 6 hours and usually that last hour is when the pain starts to return and I whine and whine until I can take it again.  Even so, that is still a lot of time for it to work because most medicine's are taken every 4 hours which means the relief only lasts for about 3 hours.

It does other things too!
I had my husband buy this purely because I had a sore throat, but a few hours later that day I started getting a fever and chills and body aches all over.  This product takes care of that too!  This version of the product helps your Sore Throat, Bodyaches, Headaches and Coughing.  The only thing I didn't have was a cough, so it was worth it.  The label states they also sell 2 other versions, one just for Sore Throat/Bodyaches and another for Cold/Severe Flu.  My husband didn't see either of those at the store.  He also didn't see the nighttime versions which they claim they have.  Regardless, they are being made and sold somewhere so look out for them if that's what you want.

The only downside
You can't take this with anything else that contains the active ingredient, Acetaminophen, because apparently that would be really bad!  I had wanted to take Sudafed Sinus Headache for my stuffy head that came up after my fever, but I couldn't because I still wanted this for my sore throat.  In those cases I usually choose to use this product because it worked so well and just lived with the stuffy head.

Be careful though
Liquid products always seem to be addicting.  When I used to take Nyquil, it felt like I couldn't sleep without it after 2 or 3 days of use.  This product seemed like it would be the same way.  Therefore I limited my use of this to only the first 2 days of my sore throat and by then it was only hurting mildly so I lived without it.  It's best to use this only on your worst sick days so that you don't get too addicted to the good feeling and think you need it.

So try it!
Next time you have a sore throat, forget about the lozenge and try this cooling sensation instead.  You won't regret it!

This medicine is intended for adults only.

Will have to get a bottle of this as this is the time of year for it, since the weather wants to go back and forth so much. Thanks for the tip. ;) Ron

In response to mrkstvns's comment from Apr 18, 2008 at 7:55PM:

Yeah I don't have allergies, but the rapid weather changes here in MI usually make me sick for a few days. It was 70, then 40, then 50, then 30.... then sick!!!!

I've been feeling a bit under the weather myself lately. Spring time though....and that usually means allergies. :-(
