Searching for your next fantasy fix after reading the last of the Harry Potter books? Seems author Stephanie Meyer just might have concocted the cure for what ails ya with Twilight. This first in the Twilight series of novels is classic romance with a healthy dose of fantasy. The heroine, Bella, has moved from Arizona to Washington state to live with her father. In classic style, she is immediately shown lots of attention by the local boys, but desires none of them. Instead, she is drawn to Edward, the guy sitting next to her in class and the one dude who seems repulsed by her. Edward has a dirty little secret, however. He's a vampire, which is not quite the same as "he's a stripper". Bella's attraction persists, even when she learns his secret, and ultimately, they fall in love. This is the story of that love and unique hazards is poses. Readers are drawn into this fantasy world of forbidden love because "Edward and Bella are this centuries Romeo and Juliet!" and possibly because vampires are intrinsically erotic creatures. Not all readers are so enthralled, however, as one reviewer put it, "Meyer's prose is decent, but her plot and character development are so atrocious that even the most brilliantly-worded sentences couldn't save them." The vast majority, though, felt "The interaction between Bella and Edward is electric, it jumps off the page" In either case, "Twilight is a young adult book and is very clean. There is no swearing and no sex whatsoever but it is about vampires, blood desire, and topics more appropriate for older kids so I'd say this one is for the over 16 crowd.". By a huge majority, Twilight comes highly recommended.

A few months ago my preacher spoke of a series of books that was taking our nation's young people by storm and it was in our very own Christian school. He spoke of vampires and teenagers and love and everything else that would beguile you. I wasn't sure what series he was referencing but knew that my best friend's 15-year-old was also reading the series. This book is amazing. Prior to reading Twilight, I had heard from many friends that they could not put this book down and now I know why. I also see that it appeals to people of all ages from preteen to the elderly, (my mother loved it!). It is also appropriate for all of these age groups as there is no swearing, no sex and nothing too violent.

I don't normally enjoy fiction books, and have never been a fan of fantasy. HOWEVER, I absolutely love the book, Twilight. I just finished reading this book, and although it's a long one, it only took me about three days to complete. I literally couldn't read this book fast enough.
Although I had heard that Twilight was a book for young adults, I was thrilled with it. I think it is for readers of all ages, although it does make good reading for teens because there is no foul language, no sex, no drug use, and very little violence. That's right! I'll admit it. I'm stubborn. I heard a few mixed reviews about 'Twilight' and was still very curious. I saw the Posters all over Wamart advertising the new movie and thought it was for the kiddies. Typically I'm not very happy to be bored but because of my boredom I gave Twilight a try.

I heard about Twilight by Stephenie Meyer about 2 weeks ago when I got an email from Borders with an article about the "Bella Luna" series being the next Harry Potter. As I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and practically having DTs as a result of the series being finished, I was chomping at the bit for a similar story into which I could throw my attention.
