Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1) —

After all the fuss over the actor Robert Pattinson, and his young co-star Kritsten Stewart, the Twighlight books piqued my interest.

I bought the first two books, and read them both within three days, that was how well Stephanie Meyer spun her tale!

Young Bella Swan lived in Phoenix, with her mom, but moves to Washington to be with her father, when her mom gets hooked up with a baseball player that's trying to get signed, and she is travelling too much to be a good parent.

Bella goes to her last two years of high school in Forks, a small town near the ocean.

She quickly makes friends at school, though she's absolutely hypnotized by this one group and a boy named Edward, in particular!

Edward, it turns out, is equally drawn to Bella, as she to him, and quite  a bit of time goes by, that Edward misses school to try and get his feelings for Bella under control!  After all, Edward and his family are vampires!

But as times goes by, Edward and Bella seem to be thrown together by fate, and no matter what they do, the gods destine them to be with each other!

So goes the bittersweet part of the tale, which winds up going into another episode of Edward leaving Bella, (" for her own good."), and Jacob coming back into her life..

One of Bella's childhood friends, from the summers that she spent with her father, was a boy that Bella runs into one afternoon with her school friends, (minus Edward-)at the beach.

His name is Jacob, and he's a werewolf! This causes some trouble with Bella and Edward's relationship, because the vampires and the were's have a pact, that they will not go into the other's territory.  This has been witheld for many, many years.  But Bella is going into both camps.  Uh-oh! Then there are complications in other areas with Bella.  She can't tell her father everything about her friends and their families, so she has to sneak around and tell fibs.  Typical teen.(lol)! Luckily, (since Bella is quite accident prone,) she has Edward's 'father', Dr. Carlisle Cullen, to take care of her in vampire fashion, which saves her life a number of times.

I would love to tease you with the plot, but all I can say, is do as I did, and read the book.

Yes, it's written nicely, and teens can read it, but I sensed some sexual tension many times, both between Edward and Bella, and  Jacob and Bella, which it what is great about the way that Stephanie writes! Both young and old can enjoy it, as far as their imagination can take them.
