Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1) —
When I began to read the Twilight series my first response was confusion as to why everyone made such a big deal out of it. It wasn't great but it wasn't horrible. Having completed the series I am in awe as to how horrific these books are. Twilight is about a sick obsessive type love between a girl and a vampire. If I knew anyone in real life who felt that way about someone I would have them committed. On top of the unrealistic ideal about the beautiful knight in shining armour that sparkles and has no flaws the book has also provides young adults with the following values:You dont need to know someone to know that you love them. This can be decided within the first few minutes of meeting him.
True love means the person you love has zero flaws and is absolutely beautiful.
Anyone who is nice or bubbly (or simply not dark and angsty) is a complete waste of space.
If you want to have sex get married first. Getting married at 18 so that you can have sex is completely acceptable.
if your mom really loves you she will approve of this union.
Using people is completely acceptable as long as you know its wrong while you continue to do it.

Its ok to cheat on your boyfriend because if he really loved you he would forgive you.
