Twilight - The Movie —

I have been hearing all the buzz about Twilight, both the movie and the book and decided I needed to check this out for myself.  I have not read the book, so I feel that my review of the movie is completely unbiased.

My local drive-in movie theater was playing Twilight and Four Christmases so I thought now would be a good time to see two movies that I had been wanting to see for the price of one.

I have to say that I am both pleased and disappointed by the movie Twilight.  I am pleased because it is an excellent storyline.  The love story that the movie focuses on is a very sweet, protective and generous love story that keeps you rooting for them throughout the film.  I was disappointed in the movie because of the unrealistic action scenes and teenagerish feel to the movie.  I know the movie itself is unrealistic since it is about vampires, but the action scenes were just too much for me.  Since the characters were mostly all in high school, that contributed to the "young" feel of the movie.

I do have to say that one of the main characters "Edward Cullen" is extremely handsome and I couldn't keep my married eyes off of him for the entire length of the film.  I didn't care for the person they cast for the character "Bella".  I don't know why, I just feel that she wasn't a very good fit for the role.  She was boring and not worthy of the wonderful Edward Cullen.  I suppose their love story is even better because she is not pretty, he loves her for who she is.

The Scoop!

Even though the movie was kind of cheesy at times, it has a very good storyline.  I am looking forward to the movie's sequel and I plan on reading the book series too.  I have also reviewed the Twilight Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.

I know what you mean. I always get disappointed if I read a book and then watch the movie because I am expecting everything in the book to be in the movie. They have done really well with the Chronicles of Narnia books to movie series. I had a class in college in which our semester project was to read a book and watch the movie of the same title and then compare the two. I had the movie Beaches memorized so I decided to read the book. Boy was I utterly disappointed. There were so many inconsistencies and missing pieces. I still love the movie and it makes me cry just to think about how it ends but I don't think I will ever read the book again. I am looking foward to seeing Twilight when it comes out on DVD but I will keep in mind all your warnings and try not to be too disappointed. ~Gigi

I still haven't received it yet. I am dying to read it. I know that books are always better than the movies, but I had to know what all the hype was about with this movie, so I had to go see it. I am actually glad I saw the movie first. That way, when I read the book, I won't be disappointed like I would had I done it vice versa.

Back to this review in the lineup! This is the cover on my book! Has yours arrived yet? My book has 498 pages and I'm on page 133. I fell asleep during the wee hours of the morning when I was trying to read this morning. ~Gigi

That's funny because I asked my husband for them too! It's ironic because most people read the book and want to watch the move, but I did it the other way around. Thanks for reading!

The book series is taking my Christian school and church community by storm. I have hear differing opinions, of course, b/c of the whole vampire thing. After reading several reviews I requested the books for Christmas. ~Gigi
