I know books to movies generally have differences so I went into the Twilight movie with low expectations. After I saw the movie I think I should have set my expectations a little bit lower.
I loved the books and felt they could have done so much more with this movie. The acting wasn't wonderful but honestly I think this could have been overlooked if the director and screenwriter would have done a better jobs. Instead of the screenwriter condensing the book into the movie with logical plot lines she basically just rewrote the story. She also payed little attention to details which would have made no difference in cost to production therefore I see no reason why they were overlooked. As for the director she used horrible angles while shooting that made the movie feel choppy. For example it seemed she was constantly zooming in when there was no need.
The music was far from what I expected. It didn't complement the movie but was more distracting then anything. I know the music selection is good in a movie when I can't specifically remember the songs at the end but I knew I liked them. This was not the case in the Twilight movie.
As for the actors I think some of them were just not cast properly. I have seen many of them in other movies and was not offended by their talent so I know that is not the problem. I think many of them just didn't fit the roles they were hired to portray and therefore no amount of acting could make it believable.
Overall, this movie was a huge disappointment. I am glad there will be a new director for the second one and hope that he can pull it together better. I felt sympathy for Stephanie Meyer and told my husband if that had been my book I would have cried that they made it into something to horrible. Lets cross our fingers for the rest of the series!
