First of all I want to say that before I saw the movie "Twilight" I made sure to read the book. I was very glad that I decided to do this. Although Robert Pattinson is amazing to look at, I don't think that he saved this movie. The differences were very noticeable for a person who read the book. First of all Charlie wasn't a big talker in the book, yet in the movie he almost didn't shut up. The whole Bella not being able to cook thing was a big deal in the book and yet it was completely cut out of the movie. Not to mention Victoria, James and Laurent didn't kill or attack people before they entered the plot in the book, but in the movie we saw them before the Cullens did. Oh and they completely cut out several parts that mad it more interesting. I don't think fans would have complained had they added the extra half hour and included some things (ie: the first dance, Tyler asking Bella to the dance, Bella's biology blood scene and the irony, etc.) All of these things helped explain a little more of Edward and Bella's relationship. Understandably certain things were added to the movie to help update, such as Edward's reference to googling an adrenaline rush and Bella having a cell phone. In the movie their love seemed a bit unwarranted and the scene in the field, which is what Stephenie Meyer dreamed of and was the inspiration for the whole saga, was barely even featured in the movie. I have seen Kristen Stewart in other films and have appreciated her as an actress. In this film, however I believe she didn't do her best. I was disappointed in her performance and hope to see better in "New Moon." Overall it was good and I watched it more than once, but it definitely left me wanting.
