Twilight - The Movie —

I have a wide range of tastes in movies and books, and thought I had gotten over my vampire stage, until all the hype about Twilight, the Movie.  My college aged son recently was home for a visit and we watched it together, and then I watched it again with my teenage daughter. I guess I have already given a sneak peek at my "viewpoint."

I admit that I am no movie reviewer like Fardreamer, and I hate it when a review gives too much away. I also admit to having no real expectations about Twilight, the Movie because I haven't read the book (but I have read GigiandAdonai's review) and now look forward to reading it also.

My Viewpoint: Twilight, the Movie  was good enough to watch twice.  I may even buy it and watch it again.  The relatively unknown older teenage actors as Edward and Bella, as well as more experienced actors as part of the cast,  managed to pull off a believable story of true love, teenage angst, as well as the surprising element of science fiction meets Native American myths in the form of a vampire.  Some of the scenes may be too "cheesy" for others, some may become frustrated with the "long looks" between the two main characters, however all in all the movie was suspenseful, captivating, and believe it or not actually made sense where science fiction meets history, culture and myths gone to true life.  It is important to watch the movie closely, if you need to get up for popcorn or a drink hit pause, as there are many conversations and observations that you should be aware of to pull the movie together.  Maybe it's not the story, maybe it's not the actors, maybe it's the cinematography -- but whatever it is it kept me watching it-- twice! I look forward to the "sequel" they left off perfectly to keep you coming back if you liked it and to know not to if you didn't.

I haven't seen the movie yet. The last vampire movie I tried to watch was Interview with a Vampire with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. Great review ;-)

You DID watch it, yay! I put in my review that I might have a better appreciation of the movie if I heard someone else give some more positive points that I didn't pick up on. I almost watched it again the other night. If you liked the movie you will love the books.
