Edward and Bella, this centuries Romeo and Juliet! When I first heard about this book I honestly thought, "Ha, vampires in today's day in age, how silly."  After I finished reading it in one afternoon, my thoughts became, OH MY GOSH, when do I get to read the next ones! My mind was completely… read full review »

Meyer's prose is decent, but her plot and character development are so atrocious that even the most brilliantly-worded sentences couldn't save them. Twilight's main character, Bella Swan, lacks any personality and gives the reader little motivation to like her. In fact, Bella's role in the novel… read full review »

I literally just finished this book and I'm just waiting for rush hour traffic to calm down so I can go to the book store and buy the next book in the series. I need it now! — I heard about Twilight by Stephenie Meyer about 2 weeks ago when I got an email from Borders with an article about the "Bella Luna" series being the next Harry Potter.  As I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and practically having DTs as a result of the series being finished, I was chomping at the bit for a similar story into which I could throw my attention.  And Twilight delivered. — Twilight is the… read full review »

I love reading young adult fiction and I'm kind of envious because when I was a teenager our only choices were Sweet Valley High or Fear Street. Twilight is a great story about Bella Swann and Edward Cullen. Edward adores Bella and fiercely protects her, but he has a secret; he's a vampire. A good friend of mine recommended this book and I must admit that after hearing her describe the plot I was very skeptical, but after I read it I passed it along to a handful of co-workers who also enjoyed… read full review »

Sacrificing her own happiness for her mother, Bella moved to Forks to stay with Charlie, her dad.  First day in a new school is hard enough without Edwards gaze.  She was fascinated by him immediately, and he was fascinated by her as well.  So Edward turns out to be a vampire.  That should scare off young Bella, but interestingly enough, it doesn't. —      This book is being sold as a young adult, I enjoyed and I have not fit that category for several years now.  The interaction between Bella and… read full review »

I know that this is geared toward young adults, but anyone could love this book.  I am 30 something and truely enjoyed the book.  I read the whole series in about a week.  I could not put the books down. —  The book is about Bella Swan, a high schooler in Forks Washington who meets Edward Cullen, a vampire, and they fall in love.  This is not a typical mushy love story. It also is not your usual story about Vampires.  It is full of struggles and just touches on romance.  As a parent, this would be great to share with teenage readers.  … read full review »

I had worked at Borders Outlet for over 10 months and had seen this book shelved and sold.  I finally decided to pick it up and read it, although it was in our Young Adult section.  The Vampire Genre is one of my favorites, so this book became part of me from the beginning!  I love when the authors of Vampire Fantasies take us into their characters human emotions.  — I read all three books, and notice that the end leaves the possibility of a fourth book.  (Fingers Crossed)  Maybe one day Stephanie will write a series for her "older" audience as well! —… read full review »

A great book.  A quick read that draws the reader in and keeps them spellbound.  The Chemistry between Bella and Edward is think enough to be cut by a knife.  My son got me interested in this and the following two books in the series and whenever I finish one I can't wait for the next one to hit the book store.  These books leave you hanging and make you wish you had waited for the whole series to be published before starting to read them.  I recomend this book and series to any fan of vampires and the arcane.  Great for… read full review »

This book series, in my opinion, is absolutely amazing. It may be a bit long at times, and some details just seem unneccessary, but the overall book is good. It is a great workout for your imagination, to think and come up with your very own interpretated images in your mind. Lots of the fantasy marked details, like the description of beauty and supernatural powers, just have you wishing you can encounter someone like that. — — The story is about a girl named Bella who moves away from the city, where she lived with her soon to be remarried mother. She moves to a small… read full review »

Ok, so my boyfriend was telling me about this book he was reading, that he had gotten from a co-worker of his.  She told him he had to read it, and after he finished this book he said that I HAD to read it.  Naturally, I asked him what the book was about, and when he told me, I was so sure that I would not like the book at all. — You see, he told me this book is about a vampire family, but they aren't bad vampires- and a girl who is a little intrigued and accidently gets herself into the middle of everything- and it turns out to be a love story.  I thought it sounded… read full review »

Thanks to several people talking up the book Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, I decided to get a copy to read. I blame all of you for making me obsessed with finishing the book this weekend. Hey, I wanted to get a jump start on New Moon (book two in the series) while I had some time. Honestly this series has become quite popular with adults and young adults alike. Much like the Harry Potter books, only different - LOL! — Who knew I would be interested in a vampire book? I surely did not. Still I was intrigued with all of the talk of Edward, Bella and Jacob. I must say I was beyond… read full review »

— I am always looking for good books for my middle school daughter, who LOVES to read, but is kind of spoiled by the Harry Potter series, so she's a tough customer.  I was a little concerned because I had heard the book was very seductive, and I was wondering if it would be too explicit for a 'tween.   I read the book myself, and I absolutely loved it.  I enthusiastically passed it on to my daughter, who loved it too, and got in line for the sequel at the library. — — Main character Bella, a 17-year old girl, falls in love with a dashing 17-year old… read full review »

I am not a fan of vampire stories. Okay, I liked the movie "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", but that was mostly for the one-liners. But a good friend of mine, whose opinion I trust, recommended "Twilight". One day, when I felt I had nothing better to do, I picked up "Twilight" from the library to give it a once over. Once over, nothing. I could hardly put it down! From the beginning I identified with the main female character, Bella. I had never moved to a different state in high school nor had I ever met, let alone fallen in love with, a vampire, but something clicked. The author has a… read full review »

okay so i am sitting in class and every one of my friends are talking about nothing but these books, they was talking about it and saying lines out of it they even quoted it for one of our art projects.  They said that it was the new harry potter so i was shopping and i decided that i would go ahead and but it even if i didn't like it someone would. but i just knew that no book could be as good as the harry potter books but then i started reading it and even in about the first two chapters you can't put it down it is so addictive.  It did not take long for me to finish and fall in… read full review »

Last weekend I was at a new salon getting my hair colored. The stylist was a talkative woman and told me about a book she had read, "Twilight", and suggested that I go out and buy it after leaving the salon. She told me how everyone she knew was in love with the book and many people read it in one or two days. Not really into reading myself, I was a bit skeptical about buying the book. She didn't tell me much about the book, not wanting to ruin it for me, so this also threw me off a bit. I bought the book and haven't been able to put it down when I have free time. I'm not really one for… read full review »
