Intuit has been in tax prep business for a good long time and its TurboTax is one of the best, and our community of our do-it-yourself –tax scribes almost universally praise TurboTax, with statements like “I would recommend most people try Turbo tax. It is well worth the money if you pay for it and if you want to use it for FREE you can go on line to use the basic,” quite common. Intuit designed TurboTax to be easy to use even for a novice computer user, with stellar tax interview process, a plentitude of IRS forms, and a simple to use interface. I have used Turbo Tax Software for about 7 years now. It makes tax preparation so much easier and faster. I find Turbo Tax more user friendly than the traditional paper returns that you could spend hours upon hours researching questions that may come up. The e-filing option that is available allows you to send your return electronically (NO STAMPS! NO LOST RETURNS! NO WORRIES!). This is the second year that I have used a discounted copy of Turbo Tax from my bank and one was also available from the brokerage company I use. It took more time for me to get all my records in order that it did to plug in the numbers, etc. Quick and easy, this is the answer to everyone moaning about how expensive it is to have an accountant do their taxes. E-filing is available as is donation values for other than cash contributions if you itemize deductions. I used the Delux version and it did my federal and state versions. I have used Turbo Tax for 5 years straight. It is very easy to use, and walks you through the process step by step. My taxes are a little more complex that the average person because not only do I have a regular job, but I also sell for a home party plan company and actually make more at that than my real job. So . . . I have lots of business expenses and also claim a home office plus I have a son in college that i was take the tuition tax credit a couple of those years. For someone who hates tax-time, dreads doing the taxes, and cringes at the cost of having someone do the taxes for you....... TurboTax is a life saver!!! I am so happy that I gave them a try!!! The system is easy to use (especially since my online banking offers it at a discounted price - and I don't actually have to go out and purchase software), it is inexpensive compared to any tax preperation service (H&R Block...) and they actually save your data from year to year and all you have to do is basicaly verify it the next year you use it.!!! … read full review »

I have been using Turbo Tax since 1998 and I am very impressed with the 2007 product and the new look of the program is very user friendly and easy to navigate anywhere within your tax return that you need to go. I use the Deluxe version and it takes care of any deduction and has all the forms and directions I need for every aspect of my return. If you do not have many deduction I would suggest using the free online version and filing online. The online version is very easy to use and has the same help features as the retail version. Been using Turbo Tax for about three years now and really like how easy it is to use. Just load the disk, follow the prompts and your almost done. Still have to gather up your paper work like your w-2 forms but other than that it asks you easy to understand questions, you fill in the info, and it calculates you your tax refund (hopefully) quickly. Spent less than half an hour this year doing my taxes!!! Would have spent that much time just driving to a tax office to get them done and saved a whole lot more than just gas money too! This is the second year we've used Turbo Tax Deluxe online and have found it to be extremely simple. It is very meticulous, asking for all the necessary details as you go through the various filing categories. We used to spend over $300 for a tax preparer and we are spending less and getting back more. I total up all my receipts,etc. prior to logging on and just make entries where it asks for them. Last year I tried online tax filing and it went pretty well, so I used an online tax filing service again this year. My mistake was I used a different service, than the year before. I used Turbo Tax this year and I wasn't impressed. — The advertising said "free e-file". I upgraded to the next package which was $29.95, and when I checked out, they charged me $29.95 three times. I've been using Turbo Tax to do my taxes and to e-file for the past 10 years and I LOVE it! I wouldn't even consider switching to another tax software because it's price is always competetive for the services it offers. The "It's Deductable" software has helped me deduct thousands by helping me be more specific in itemizing my donations. The only problem I had with Turbo Tax was having my calculations done in incorrect categories. Turbo Tax could help by suggesting categories ahead of time. I have used Turbo Tax for three years but still seem to organize wrong.
