I have been pregnant twice now, and both times, I got serious heartburn. Because I didn't want to take actual medicines until I could absolutely help it, my midwife recommended Tums. During both pregnancies, I was going through at least 10 tums tablets a day near the end, and it was really nice to have the different flavors. Yes, the taste is a little bit chalky, but that's like complaining that Coke has sugar (its kind of a big reason why I used it). They're sold everywhere, you can usually find coupons for them, and even now when I have heartburn (usually after a particularly delicious pizza dinner), Tums does the trick! I definitely recommend them to pregnant women, since you want to avoid medications if you can at all help it. Tums were great!

I used to think Tums was only for heartburn until I recently got an upset stomach at work and a coworker suggested taking some Tums. I went to a 7-11 store and bought some and it worked so well. After taking the Tums, my stomach felt better within 5-10 minutes. Where has this product been all my life! It's amazing how narrowminded you are to try new things until someone specifically tells you about it. I don't really get heartburn too often, so I don't really know how well Tums would work for it. But as far as upset stomachs are concerned, this will now be my number 1 medicine to turn to. I have a habit of eating way too much when it's something that I really like. Also, eating a lot of spicy foods will kick up the upset stomach feeling right away too. The key is moderation and if I keep to that philosophy then I probably won't even need Tums again, but I highly doubt that will happen. I just love food way too much, and now that I found Tums, I will continue to eat a lot of the foods I like! The only one complaint about Tums is the flavor and taste. Maybe if they could make it into a gummy candy, it would taste much better.

I have tried Tums Ultra off and on through out the years with mixed results. I really do not like the fact that they taste so chalky and even after they are gone I can still taste it on my toungue and teeth. Even the different "tropical" flavors cannot cover up the chalky taste. Given that they are chewables, obiviously they take longer to work than a liquid like Maloxx would. But at the end of the day, Tums Ultra does eventually work. Most of the time I only need to take the recommended dose to get relief. There have been times when I have to take a few extra in order to get the relief from my symptoms though. If you can ignore the chalky taste then this would be a good product for you. Also, Tums are pretty inexpensive which is good for any budget. If you are always on the go, this would be a convenient product to take along with you or store in your car. Overall, this is a product that works.

As I am getting older in years I am feeling that I am just not interested in eating as much as when I was younger. I had a bone density test performed recently and since I am over 60 years old, my Doctor suggested 1800 mg of Tum's daily to ensure I was getting enough calcium. He said he couldn't see any problems since the latest test as apparently the results were about the same as 3 years ago. He said because I am active just about three or four days a week as a volunteer dog walker at our local shelter and taking my Tum's to keep my routine the same. I rarely eat meat, drink milk, or eat the equivelent of food to consume the appropriate amount of Calcium. Taking Tum's is so easy to take. They now have flavors to choose from and are quite tasty. My husband sometimes gets what he called 'acid stomach'. Usually after he has a spicy meal. Within a half hour or so, he starts feeling better. Tum's is a product you can depend on for both getting enough calcium into your body and when that acid stomach comes you can always trust Tum's!

If I was to recommend one thing for heartburn, it would be tums although I did have a good experience with Aciphex. I personally love tums because number one, it works great. With all the side effects that medicine have now a days, I tend to be careful in using them if at all, but with tums you do not have to worry about side effects. It so safe, that it can be used without caution while pregnant and also provides a great source of calcium. Tums has always worked for me and I am so extremely happy with their product. I have told my husband and others, that to use anything else is ridiculous! This is a extremely affordable product and has been reliable among the years! It is very fast acting, and actually had a great taste. When it comes to this product, I really do not have any complaints. I know alot of people thinks it taste chalky and I guess I can understand why they feel this way, but with the way that it works I will take it!

These Tums really do work wonders! All during my pregnancy and after I have dealt with heartburn, nausea, bloating and Acid Reflux. I really do not like taking medicine, but I was desperate and HAD to try something. I tried these and was surprised to find that they not only taste really great, they also work pretty quickly. These Tums seem pretty safe to take,  and don't seem to cause any negative side effects. I also like that you can purchase these Tums pretty much anywhere like at gas stations, grocery stores, big chain stores, convenience stores and they're not priced ridiculously, they're priced pretty reasonably. I also like the multi-colored Tums tablets. They all taste really good. These are also conveniently carried in your purse, gym bag, tote bag etc, with you where ever you go. The only con that I really see with the Tums Ultra 1000 Maximum Tablets are that they are a little chalky tasting and can become that way more so the older they get.

my husband has been using these for as long as i can remember.  he's always loved this flavor more than the berry, orignal fruit, or any other flavor.  in this past year, i've started to have heartburn and started to use this product as well. i must say, it's a great relief. and i don't mind what some might call the chalky after taste. to me, it's a small price to pay when in discomfort.  with my husband and me both using this TUMS, we keep a bottle in my purse (this is a smaller bottle that hold about 25 or so), our room in the night stand, one in the vehicle in our console, and ofcourse one with the medicines.  everyone around us knows we have these on hand with us and usually bum a  few off us. i stock up on these when ever i can with sales and coupons.  this is one product that we don't buy in the store brand, because there is a difference when it comes to this particular product.

I never experienced heartburn....and then I got pregnant.   Let me tell ya, it is amzingly HARD to find something that you can take that is safe for you and your baby for ANYTHING. And boy oh boy, I needed something for that acid. Tums, you rescued me. Not only are they safe, but they have calcium and aren't totally disgusting. I invested in the biggest bottle possible, and used them all. Now, I only need it when I have pasta or anything with tomatoes, and I still rely on Tums to keep that nasty acid at bay.

I have to say this product is a life savor for my  hearburn. It was alot worse while I was pregnant for sure and these were safe to take then as well! All it took was a few and my heartburn was gone. I recieved alot of recomendations from my doctor as well as family to take Tums. I currently still use the product for my use when I experience discomfort of heartburn. I am very thankful that this has worked for me and I havent had to resort to a rx from a doctor. Like I said this has worked wonders for my heartburn. The flavors are wonderful and it really taste more like sweetarts in a way rather than taking a over the counter medication.If your not a fan of the fruity type flavors they do offer these in a more generic flavor. I recommend this product to my friends and family and make sure to always carry and roll or bottle in my purse just incase my husband decides he wants to stop for mexican!

I usually only get heartburn when I'm pregnant, but since I've got 6 kids, I'm usually pregnant. I keep a bottle of Tums in my nightstand drawer because it's been worst when I'm getting ready to go to sleep. In my experience, Tums are very fast-acting. After I eat 2, I see relief within 5 minutes. Tums tablets are tasty, too, except when I happen to need one right after brushing my teeth, then they're icky. The tropical flavors are my favorite Tums flavors. I also like the Tums because they are affordable. I've seen some over-the-counter heartburn medicines that are quite pricey, and if someone were to have worse heartburn than I get, they might work better and therefore be worth the extra cost. But for what I have, what I need it for, the Tums work great for me! I consider them to be healthy, too, because I vaguely recall looking to see what they were made of and it seems like it was mostly calcium. So maybe they'll help strengthen my bones too!
