I really like this product. My son has outgrown it now, but he used to have acid reflux problems. The prescription for acid reflux tastes AWFUL too! For a while we could get the prescription mint flavored enough, but eventually he just couldn't even take it. We switched to using Kid's Tums or "Tummy Candy" as we called it, and this product works great!! It's not as strong as the prescription, but when he would lay down at night and his tummy or chest would hurt from acid, these would really calm it down. It also helped if it looked like the acid was going to make him throw up. There are two things that I absolutely love about this product too. 1. the kids version actually costs pretty much the same as the adult version, they don't raise the price just because they added "for kids" to the label. and 2. It actually doubles as a calcium supplement, so it was okay for my son to take it, even if he didn't really need it. Because it was just calcium. They taste great, and dissolve. I would say dissolve well enough for a child eating early toddler foods. They have basically the same ingredients as regular tums, but they dissolve easier. Effectiveness Worked well to help calm my little guy's tummy. Ease of Use They are scored, so you can break them in half with just your fingers! and they taste great, so I used to call them "tummy candy" Immediacy They work right away!

My 3 1/2 year old son had a really bad case of upset stomach and I wanted to try something that would slow his bathroom breaks down until he was able to see his doctor, and so I bought Tums Kids. The first flaw that I noticed about this product was the design of the bottle. Though it was very kid friendly, it did not have any type of restrictive top that would keep kids out. I know it may not be something that kids generally get a hold of but being that it is for kids and it kind of reminds them of candy, it would of been wise to put a protective/ kid-proof lid on this bottle so that kids can not get into it. Besides the bottle, I do not think that it did it's part to relieve my sons upset stomach. In my opinion it focused more on the "Excellent source of calcium" and the calcium supplement side more than providing actual relief for his upset stomach which most people think of when they think "Tums".I actually tried the cherry blast flavor for myself an it was gross. It tasted and reminded me of chalk. I don't think that I would recommend this product for anyone else because it did not do it's job at all. My son was still using the bathroom just as much after taking this as he was before he started taking it. I guess you get what you pay for.

Tums for kids has helped my son very much. At three years old his GERD is almost unresponsive to his prescriptions and restricted diet and he only finds relief with the Tums. I can safely give him the kids version without wondering if it is too much. The kids Tums come in mild flavors and a non choking size. I was very excited when I found these, as we had been breaking the adult version in half to give him. He now tells me his throat is not on "fire", which both comforts and saddens me. The bottle is attractive and has a cartoon child on it, so it is easy to spot which bottle on the fridge. Bottles is small enough to be stored in a diaper bag or other. Thank goodness the makers of Tums recognized that children also suffer and have provided a mode of relief to them. The Tums for kids is hard to find in my area, so we usually stock up then we do find it.  If you have a child that suffers from GERD and need instant relief on occasions, this is a great product to try.
