The truth, and nothing but the truth, is that Grand Brands, Inc. have come up with a great idea -- crystalized citrus juice better known as True Lemon, True Lime, and True Orange.  These products basically consist of taste -- a great flavoring idea not only for water but for various cooking venues also ... sprinkled over hot baked fish, roast chicken, or steamed veggies.

STATS:

True Lemon, True Lime, and True Orange really contain nothing but good taste.  These powders are packaged in packets which come 32 to a box.  Each packet is a serving which contains zero each calories, fat, sodium, protein, and less than one gram carb plus 25% Vitamin C!  Maltodextrin and lactose are used as all-natural bulking ingredients to aid in the flowability of these products but these two additives combined amount to less than half a gram in each packet.  (See TrueLemon.com for more information.)  These products retail for a little more than $3 and are found in the baking ingredients section of supermarkets, near things like Splenda.  Free samples may be ordered from the TrueLemon website.

TASTE TIP:

True Lemon, True Lime, or True Orange are available in shaker bottles as well and provide a great flavor boost to mixed drinks, hot popcorn or fresh, frozen, or canned fruit.  Some people apparently dispense with the formalities by just pouring packets of these products directly into their mouths for "a great lemon or lime kick"(!!!)

Hi, Mike! I think there may be something wrong with the "Reply" button here. I'll try it again. I probably never will give up on salt and pepper but I've learned to love other seasonings too and this seems like an interesting idea they have come up with!

Thanks for the enlightenment for those of us who tend to think of seasoning as "salt and pepper"!
