True Compass —

With True Compass, we get inside the heart and mind of Ted Kennedy, and the thoughts and feelings behind many of the events of the last 50 years. We see with new eyes the intense relationship he had with his brother Jack, and the effect his assassination had, not only on us, but on the Kennedy family, on a deeply personal level.  We come to understand a man of deep personal faith, who admits to his insecurities and faults, and tries to rise above them. We see a Senator deeply committed to "everyman", and the whys of his commitment.  This is a deeply personal autobiography, and will change the way the Kennedy family is viewed; not as a political dynasty, but as a family. Excellent read.

I had heard about "True Compass" but until I read this review I had no idea how comprehensive the book would be. I have gone from thinking about buying it to using my Doubleday Book Club to buy it this month.
