True Blood Review Summary

Looking for a new show to sink your teeth into? Well, HBO's new series True Blood about blood suckers (and I'm not talking politicians here) in Louisiana might just satisfy your thirst for new, er, blood. Based on Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire Mystery Seriesof books, the show offers a new twist on the old vampire legends, "It's been around for as long as humans themselves and with each telling the story shifts just a tad to add or subtract from the legend.". Thanks to a new synthetic blood invention vampires now roam freely among us because they are no longer a threat. Of course not every one is comfortable with creatures who once thought of humans as "dinner" being considered "fellow citizens". It is this edgy interaction that drives True Blood. Reaction among critics has been all over the pace from "True Blood left me thirsty for more!" to "Turns out that the show isn't even worth watching!". So, True Blood either is a bloody treat or it sucks. You decide.

Like everyone, well maybe everyone, I love the lore of the Vampire.  It's been around for as long as humans themselves and with each telling the story shifts just a tad to add or subtract from the legend.  And so it is with HBO's new Sunday night offering True Blood from the producers of Six Feet Under...

Steamy, sexy and hot are terms that I would use to describe Louisiana. The people, the music, the food and the setting for HBO's True Blood.  It was not until I watched the full season (often between my fingers that were covering my eyes from shame to be watching such bad TV) that I realized that it...

After years of presenting the best series on television, from The Larry Sanders Show to The Sopranos to Curb Your Enthusiasm to Deadwood, HBO has seen its incredible run of great shows sputter to a grinding halt recently. While there have been a few good comedies (Extras, Da Ali G Show, Entourage), there hasn't been a new hit drama on the network in a good long while, due in part to their passing on Mad Men (HBO's loss was AMC's gain). So when Six Feet Under creator Alan Ball proposed True Blood, a series based on Charlaine Harris's Southern Vampire Mystery Series, HBO not only said, "Yes,"...

People either love True Blood or hate it. I LOVE it and can't wait for season 2! I came to know of True Blood late in the season and just ate it up. I think I watched the whole season in less than a week - it was too hard to wait for the next episode.
Now, I do love a good vampire story but at first all the sex did take me by surprise... but it really is a great show.
I'd read the first Sookie book and just had not gotten around to reading the rest, but now I'd like to. Casting is top notch (not something I say often), and Ball's writing and directing are right on. I loved Six Feet Under but really......

Fans of Charlaine Harris' southern vampire series already know that Sookie is pronounced Soo-key. It is an old southern word for sister. The character of Sookie is about the only one taken heavily from the books. Vampire Bill, played by Steven Moyers, is the same only in residence, life situation, and accent. Eric needs work. I'm sorry but that's just the way it is! Eric needs to be more like the Eric in the books not some pimped up beefcake. Pam is too hard edged for my tastes but I'm willing to give her some time to mature.

I miss the close friendship between Jason and Hoyt but I do like HBO's...

True Blood has far surpassed Charlainne Harris' hopes!  Not only have her books won awards,( that - perhaps, she didn't expect to get,) But the HBO has 'enhanced' her books, and their show is running rampant!

Anna Pacquin, (who plays Sookie Stackhouse-) the main character in the CH books, has also earned several awards by taking on this role. She already won an Oscar at age 11 for her acting in the film 'The Piano'...

What is so fabulous about the series, (I think, ) is the fact that Anna, Steven, Alex, Ryan, and several others on the series, do NOT speak with a southern accent; as a matter...

HBO's True Blood is a huge hit in my home. I try my best not to miss an episode, if I do, it's already set to my DVR.

From the setting to the characters, True Blood brings something different and super sexy to HBO's series line up.

I enjoy all the twist and turns that the characters endure.  From Sookie trying to find who or what she really is, to wondering if in the next season they stick to the orginal story of Bill keeping a secret about the real reason he came into Sookie's life!

Plus seeing Eric, on the screen, is true eye candy! Hey Sookie, if you don't want him, I will gladly take...

I was skeptical and almost decided not to watch this show.  I heard that Alan ball was involved and had to check it out.  He was awesome in the past so I had to see what he could do with vampires.  He has created a world that says a lot about our own world and not necessary in a very subtle way.  The characters are all great and it is easy to get hooked.  sometimes it reminds me of a  sci fi movie and it doesn't take it selfserious and these are the times that it is at its best because it is trying to make us think about life not just these characters but how this applies to human nature

I love reading the books series. So when i saw the preview for the new show i was so excited.
I love the vampire. He so handsome, savy, sexy, and makes me want more. It so funny how her brother is always getting himself into so much trouble. Sookie such fun and someone your can relate to. Her grandma is big bag of laughs and i wish she was my grandma. Sookie best friend i like her wit and sarcasim. I feel her pain with her mom. I have a achololic in our family and i can relate too the pain and heartache.

So keep give me more please!

I watched the first episode of TrueBlood last week, and I'm hooked!  I've been reading the "Twilight" book series, and now I'm really into the vampire entertainment.  I love that Anna Paquin is in it, I haven't seen her in forever...and her character is adorable.  The premiere already introduced a bunch of great characters that I know I will love to love and hate.  I'm looking forward to the whole season!  Showtime never lets me down.

True Blood is the greatest show HBO has come up with. Its second to none. Sundays now take to long to get here. I'm 23 and my mom is 61 and we both cannot wait for sundays to watch the new true bloods together. We just can't get enough of this on the edge of your seat wandering whats going to happen next episode.

True Blood is supposed to be based off of books written by Charlaine Harris. Don't get me wrong i do think that the show is pretty good. my only issue with it is that i have read all nine of the books that are out right now and the first season of true blood is just based off of the first book. It would seem that the people who made the show haven't even read the books. In the very first episode of the first season like even before the opening credits they mention hurrican Katrina... whats that have to do with anything?... it has to do with the fact that hurricane Katrina hadn't even happened until...

I have to say True Blood is one of the best shows on television right now. True Blood is exciting, funny, suspenseful, and sexy all at the same time. It is even scary for some people, but not to much and not for me. The characters are wonderful at their roles and you can tell they do not hold back on their acting or roles. There are so many differant characters, that know each other and have differant and crazy things goin on around them, and alot ties together more and more as the show goes on. Their are vampires, vampires haters, fang bangers, and some just crazy people..lol. It pertrays the way things...

HBO's true Blood was captivating at first episode! I have watched every episode as it was broadcast on tv and I still went out to buy the DVD set. I have since sat down and re-watched the entire first season. There is a new twist in every episode that keeps me on my couch waiting for Sunday nights to arrive. True Blood displays vampires in a whole new light. Vampires are no longer just the blood thirsty monsters in capes that Dracula once portrayed. Vampires and humans can now coincide. Although some vampires are still the stereotypical version of what we expect, true Blood shows how some now 'main...
