Steamy, sexy and hot are terms that I would use to describe Louisiana. The people, the music, the food and the setting for HBO's True Blood.  It was not until I watched the full season (often between my fingers that were covering my eyes from shame to be watching such bad TV) that I realized that it was based upon a book. I located and read the Southern Vampire series with great gusto, and can not wait for the next installment. The books, were fun, interesting and at times quite graphic. The series, not so much.

While the series stayed pretty true to the first book of the series, I was so distracted by the bad accents that it was hard to enjoy the show. Some of the special effects were also distracting (the super quick sexual movements of a vampire come to mind).

Now, dear reader, I do not want you to think that I am not a fan, because I am, I watched each episode, and have even sought them out on HBO on demand, to watch some episodes again, however, True Blood falls under a guilty pleasure and one that I may not be willing to admit to "offline."

I cant wait for the second season to start!
