I would never own another type

This is an awesome piece of machinery. I am a female almost fifty years of age and I can push this around the yard like it is nothing. It cuts clean. It is not loud. It is not to heavy. It does not pull. It also maneuvers quite easily. It is also safe to use. My fourteen year old son uses it too. It is so light he does not even complain about having to mow the grass. It was also very affordable. It is easy on gas. It does not emit fumes when using either. I have no problem fueling it myself another plus, considering I am a female and hate asking a man for help. The Troy built gasoline powered push mower is definitely above all the rest in quality and price. I have had mine for two years with little or no maintenance at all. What is really nice about it is that it is easy to cut corners , like around the garage and my flower beds. Other mowers this was always a great struggle for me to do.It was like getting a work out. Love this!

I have ten dogs, and they all love bones and rawhide. Why is this important in a review about a lawnmower? Well, they like to leave them strewn about the back yard, and try as I might; I can never seem to find them all before I cut the grass. What I can't find, however, my lawn mower does. I've run over tennis balls, bones, pressed rawhide, rocks, concrete brick pieces, small stumps, roots, old shoes, you name it. This is the strongest little push mower I've ever owned. It does a great job, and is quite the tenacious little machine. Its self priming feature is excellent, and I've never had to pull the cord more than twice to get it to crank, I will never even consider buying another brand of push mower. I'm a Troy-Built fan for life!

So i'm slowing getting my lawn to the semi gold course look that i've been almost working on for a year.  Decide to buy a new mower, went with troy built my parents still own there's and have had it for almost 10 years now. But anyway this new mower that we just got, we have had for about 8 months now and i've not had any major problems with it, just regular maintance of course just put new blades on it a few weeks back, and changed the plug and air filter.  Only now maintence problem i've had with it was that the choke spring became loss and i fix'd it with a new spring from lowes for around 80 cents so not a huge deal.  The bagger is nice but on are yard it has to be emptied quit often so i typically decide to not use it. I would defiantly tell ppl to buy this mower, Even if you don't know much about small engines or any type of real repair, changing the spring can easly be found in the detail'd troubleshooting guide that troy built has on there web site.

Troy Bilt TB426 Works Well and Gets the Job Done

4

We recently purchased the Troy Bilt TB426 for our 1/2 acre lot. We were upgrading from a standard reel mower because of the larger lot size (previously we only had 1/8 acre) so felt we needed something with a little more power and ability.    The mower requires a little bit of construction to get it together - and my biggest complaint in that area was that the instructions on the mower state that you need to check the oil because some engines come with oil in them and others don't. This isn't a very clear direction, and when my husband checked the oil it appeared that there was plenty in the engine. However, after starting it and mowing for about 30 minutes, the engine abruptly quit and wouldn't start again. We were afraid we'd burned up the engine, but after refilling the oil container and letting it cool down, I'm happy to report that it is back up and running!   Other than the oil problem, we're very happy with the mower. It is reliable, well built, and works really well even in thick, long, damp grass. We feel it was a very good value for the money.

This mower will work at least as hard as you have to!  When my family moved to our new home on a one+ acre lot I was full of good intentions.  It was time for a new lawnmower and I was committed to staying on budget and getting a pushmower so that I'd get a workout each time I mowed the lawn.  I made this fateful decision in early April on a cloudy 55 degree day (That is foreshadowing!).  By August my feelings toward the Troy-Bilt pushmower I had so conscientiously selected had become much more complicated.      This Troy-Bilt was reasonably priced so I had some concerns about it being difficult to start and being durable. It performed well in both areas despite the fact that our family was fairly hard on it.  Although I started off with the best of intentions last summer, they soon evaporated.  If the grass hadn't grown too long I could mow my yard fairly easily with this mower.  However, as the summer wore on and it got increasingly hot and humid I let more time go by between mowings.  The long grass seemed to stay wetter too.  Naturally, by the time I reluctantly tackled this chore/workout the mower struggled to cut through my grass.  My increasing laziness also prompted me to send my 13 year old son out to get the job done.  He would leave a trail of tattered dog toys and tennis balls that he neglected to pick up before mowing.       Despite what could easily be construed as mower abuse our new Troy-Bilt finished out the season with flying colors.  This spring I rolled the mower out of the garage and started it on the first try!  Overall, I think this mower is a good value and consistently performed well in less than ideal circumstances.  However, when you decide to tie your workout to getting the grass mowed remember that you can't back out once you have purchased a pushmower.  My last mower was self-propelled and there were certainly days that I longed for it but in the end I am glad I sucked it up, saved a couple of bucks and bought the Troy-Bilt.                                                                                                                                  -/*..--n

This is a great base model mower.  If you have a small to medium sized lawn and need simple maintenance this model will be perfect for you.6'3" This mower has given me no troubles since I have purchased it.  It is incredibly easy to crank and runs great.  It is quite fuel efficient for a model its size.  The rear bag is easy removable and the side discharge attachment is easily installed. The only issue that I have found with this particular model is the height of the push bar.  The push bar is quite low for a model of this size and lacks the ability to be raised.  Standing at 6'3" this makes for an occasional issue, but not enough to dislike my mower.

It starts, eventually.

With as much rain as we received over the late winter and into spring, our front and back lawns were beginning to make the neighbors a bit antsy. Our old mower had given up the ghost after a good ten year run and my boyfriend headed on out to our local hardware store for a new one. Price was a consideration, so he purchased the Troy-Bilt TB426 21" rear-bag push mower.  A low-priced machine with a few of the extras not included.  After putting the mower together, it took my guy over 15 minutes to get it started.  The machine instructions indicate it *should* start after three pulls of the cord.  No such luck.  We chalked it up to being a new mower. The next time I used the mower and it still took quite a lot to get it started - more on the scale of about 21 to 24 pulls.  The actual mowing is pretty good and the rear-bag attachment is easy to remove for dumping.  On the plus side, the machine does not stall out easily - a trade-off for the not-so-easy starting. For the price and for small lawns, the Troy-Bilt TB426 is not a bad deal. I would not recommend it for large lawns or for those without a lot of upper body strength (for starting).

very easy to use, dependable start mower

The Troy-Bilt TB426 rear-bag push mower gives you all the quality and performance you would expect from a well-known name at an affordable price. I recommend this mower to anyone who is in search of a small mower for light residential use.  I have a half acre flat lot and this is just incredibly perfectfor me. The TB426 relies on a 190cc engine by Briggs & Stratton, a name synonymous with trustworthy performance. It sports a 21-inch solid steel deck, so this machine is perfect for smaller lawns. Starting this mower takes surprisingly little effort. If you have yet to try out a mower with Z-Start, which is a feature that is found in this mower, you owe it to yourself to do so. It offers a 20-30 percent easier start up; in fact, my mower sprang to life on the very first pull, right out of the box. Once you get it running, the wide deluxe handles provide extended comfort throughout the entire mow. This was my first mower!  I will be sure to update as life goes along with it.
