I have owned my Troy-Bilt bronco for quite some time now. She is a 2005 42" cut with a intek 18.5 horse single cylinder. She runs like a champ. Fires up every time, and has never not finished the job she was asked to do. From mowing to hauling, she dose it all. A true work horse. I only wish she had hydrostatic drive but all in all she was the best in the $1100.00 rage. Far better then the other brands I looked at. She gets the regular maintenance every 100 hours or one every year, and it rarely in the shop for not long. The techs at the shop compliment me on her looks and how well I keep her maintained. If I had to get another tractor best believe it's going to be a Troy-bilt

Decent mower

4

This mower should probably be considered a decent middle of the line basic rising mower. We purchased this mower Several years ago when our old used mower finally but the dust. We only have about an acre of land and it is pretty flat with only one hill in the front that we use a push mower on. This mower worked well for what we needed it for. We also wanted to be able to teach our son how to use a riding mower and this was a good one to start with. Performance Because our lawn is easy to mow, this mower gets the job done right. If you have a large yard or lots of hills or tricky spots to turn, I would suggest spending a little more and getting a higher end mower. Handling It is nothing compared to a zero turn and I would suggest axle grease, but it gets the job done. Once you get used to how it rides and turns, it isn't that bad. But it isn't a top of the line mower. Durability We had a couple of battery and spark plug issues. Nothing major and was easily fixed. It did hold up for several years.

Great mower for the money. Have had no problems so far. Cuts great every time. This mower was a good buy at 1100 bucks. Performance Cuts ditches and tall grass. Handling Good on hills and cutting around obstacles. Ride well for the terrain I'm on. Durability Starts every time and cuts grass even during turning.

Looks great but do not try to replace parts, very difficult.

Having this mower and using it less then 6 time in less then 3 months a safety (elec) inter-lock switch locks up. Getting the parts was OK put trying to get to the old unit was extremely difficult. I could not and would not recommend anyone to get one. Buy the less expensive brand they at least work as expected. My last one, a Yard-Man, lasted 6 years without a problem. Sold it in running condition when I decided to up-grade, or at least I though I was doing so.

should have tested my new troy built mower, not happy

just bought a new troy built riding mower from lowes.i usually hate red buy decided i could live with it and call scarlet for the buckeyes.the OHIO STATE BUCKEYES . also i liked that the mower was built in cleveland ohio.that is my home state, so i was  hoping to give some ohions some business. it is also called BRONCO,  which i have driven a ford bronco for years, like the name.It also came with a free trailor, so i was sold. the first time i was mowing, and tried to back up the mower died.i went in and read the book and sure enough, you can not back up with the blades running. I WAS PISSED AND TOLD MY NEIGHBOR I HAVE THIS MOWER. but so be it, i learned to use it by going foward all the time and having to weed eat alot more, i guess its safety first. then my other neighbor asked if i would mow her yard, WOW, IT WAS 2 FEET HIGH.  The mower went right over it and did a good job. I knew i had a good machine and am now proud of my mower. i hope it lasts 15 years like my crafsmen mower did. both mowers have the kohler engine, thats a good engine!!! thanks to all the men in cleveland that made my mower.   k neff

We love our Troy-Built riding mower

5

We purchased our Troy Built riding mower a few years back.  Not having a garage, it has had to survive outside (even through winter) under a cover.  Worse, we are not easy on a mower, so it has endured some tough outings.  Irregardless, it has always started, and run hard - cutting exceptionally well, and leaving our lawn the envy of the neighborhood.  We would encourage others to pay for the quality you receive with a Troy Built and we are sure you will not be disappointed.  Now that ours has some age on it, we are tempted to look for another mower, but it is very hard to consider giving up the fine mower that has served us so well.  We could not be more happy with it.  Style.  Quality.  Service.  All outstanding.  And worth every penny of the price.  Our next riding lawn mower will assuredly be a Troy Built - as is our push mower (very nice as well) and our garden tiller (which we have abused to no end and still serves us well years later).  Thank you for a fine product Troy Built.

Troy Riding Mower doesn't work more than it does!

We have two acres to mow and I love my lawn to look good.  We bought the Troy riding mower thinking it would be a breeze to mow our lawn now.  But we've experienced several problems in the two years we've owned the mower.  First the front right tire fell off.  We got that fixed and then when you would press the brake it wouldn't stop.  I did get stopped but it was expensive to fix.  Another problem the steering bushings broke (we couldn't steer the lawnmower).  We feel we must have gotten a lemon.  We hope everyone's not having this much of a problem with their's.

Our Troy-built mower has made yard-work a MUCH better experience

Love this mower! We were using a push mower on our VERY large yard last year and it was taking about six hours to do it.  Now we get it mowed in about two hours! Thats a big difference for a busy family!

A Good Riding Lawnmower

4

We own 50 acres and of that 50 acres about five acres is cleared land. A lot of it is hilly and includes an orchard, a pond and several areas set aside for vegetable and flower gardens. It is essential that we have a riding lawnmower to cut that area which takes from right to ten hours per week. We have had a succession of riding lawnmowers, the latest being the Troy-Built 115 automatic 16 horsepower with a 42 inch blade. It does an adequate job of mowing our five acres. We cannot have a larger mower for we have too many things to mow around that a bigger one with a much wider cut wouldn't work. The ground is uneven which means we have to change, sharpen or replace mower blades frequently because they come into contact with tree roots or rocks. We also choose the mower because it is relatively inexpensive and can be replaced every four or five years without too much financial hardship. It corners fairly well and isn't easily tipped over. It has a safety cutoff switch which automatically engages if it falls over, you fall off or you arise from the seat. It also has a couple of cupholders in which to stash your drinks. Mine is bright red which I like.

Troy Bilt Riding Mower is the Best One for Me

5

The Troy Bilt Riding Mower, 16 horse power, 42 inch blade, peddle drive with cruise control, mulcher and a Kohler motor has been the best for me. I was about to give up mowing because I could no longer get on and off the riding mowers I was using due to disabilities. Also I have to mow some gentle hills and was unable to mow them due to the pain I experienced after leaning this way and that. I was about to give it up then I bought the Troy Bilt. The tires are set wide apart making mowing hillsides a breeze. The tractor is very stable on slopes. Getting on and off no longer meant trying to ride a horse. The space in front of the seat is level with getting on so it is just a matter of slipping into the seat and you are ready to mow.  There is enough space for long legged people as opposed to other riding mowers that cause you to feel confined when getting on and off. I felt I had my life back because I enjoy mowing the grass. In addition to the ease of usage the extra perk of the grass being bagged was a gift. I really like my Troy Bilt.
