This is a nice Troy Bilt Push Mower that Doubles as a Mulcher.
This Troy-Bilt Lawn mower was purchased at Lowe's when they were having a sale for around $219.00. We needed a mower that would work well on a smaller yard, and didn't want to have to pay an arm and a leg to get it. We were happy with the purchase price, and can now report that we have been happy with the use as well. Out of the box it was very easy to set-up, as all you have to do is extend the push bars, screw them into place, and the mower is then ready to be put into use. If you go to Lowe's they sometimes have show models for a little bit cheaper that are the same exact version, but we wanted a new one and this was the mower we ended up choosing.
This is the Troy-Bilt 6.75 torque 21" cut gas push mower that doubles as a mulching mower, but also comes with a rear bag that can be used if you just looking to get rid of your grass clippings. It is classified as item #98557 at Lowe's, with a product sales model of TB100. It comes with a nice Briggs & Stratton engine with a cutting width of 21 inches wide, and it is of course powered by gas. It's a push mower with only one speed, but that is easy enough to live with when you are just pushing the mower around the lawn. The mower also comes with a container of oil that you can put into the mower as soon as you want to use it, so that saves a couple of dollars in the long run, but you will need to gas it up the first time on your own.
While putting the TB100 Troy-Bilt mower into use, you will quickly find that it is relatively easy to use. You can choose to set it up to just mulch by raising a side panel near the blade, or add the bag to the back of the mower in order to get rid of your clippings. The mower works very well on grasses that have grown to even a foot in height, and it keep working well until the bag has been filled. There have been a couple of times where I mowed over wet grass and it got caught up between the mower and the bag, but that could be fixed by stopping and removing the clog. On dry grass it worked pretty well most of the time, but I hate mowing dry grass because of the debris that almost always ends up in the air.
If you are looking for an affordable lawn mower that is going to be easy to use on your yard, this could be one that is worth a viewing. It is sold at many different Lowe's locations as I have seen, and that is exactly where this one was purchased. It has held up well through a lot of uses, and I would just recommend making sure that you only use small engine oil on the mower, and that you clean up the blade a little bit every now and then. Replacement blades are available if yours ever becomes dull, but I think that this mower works very well for a while on smaller yards without any maintenance at all. This mower can also be folded down to take up less space in your shed or garage, so it can be put into compact spaces. I think that this is a good mower that is just powerful enough to get the job done, and I am content with the purchase that we made.
