Comments about Tripbase.com:
Where do you go online to look for travel? If you are like most, you tend to go directly to one of the big name brands like Expedia, Travelocity, Priceline, Orbitz, or one of the other popular travel web sites. These sites have their usefulness, but there are many lesser- known sites that have a great deal to offer. One of them is Tripbase.com, a web site for travel.
What do you get with Tripbase.com? Well, first of all, you can search for travel and Tripbase.com has you covered in many areas, such as flights, lodging, car rentals, cruises, and vacation packages. With this service, you can find most anything you need relating to vacation travel and make quick comparisons. The other web sites that Tripbase.com compares with include Expedia.com, fly.com, Kayak.com, booking.com, and others. You can de- select anything if you don’t want to search, but most will want to search everything, in order to get the best deal.
Tripbase.com is good for comparing, but it has another unique feature you don’t find in many travel web sites: A Travel Finder. With this tool, you are asked to rate several vacation related areas on their importance to you as a traveler. The choices include Nightlife, Dining, Shopping, Nature, and Attractions. You decide which is most important and least important by using a sliding scale. You then enter your departure city, dates of travel, and whether or not you plan to drive or fly. The service will then respond with some suggestions on places to go, indicating what you can expect as far was weather goes, the average cost per person per day, average hotel cost, and average cost of a flight. The driving feature doesn’t always work correctly- it will sometimes show places in other continents, even though you specifically said you wanted to search for vacations within a four hour drive of your house. This is one area where the service needs to improve.
Travel can get expensive, but a service like Tripbase.com is good at helping you find the best deal by comparing prices among web sites. The site also helps you search for a good destination based on your own set of criteria. It often finds some good deals and good destinations, making it a service worth trying.
Ease of Use
This site is easy enough to follow, but I find that it sometimes will not ask every question is should until you get to another page.
I like the features, especially the trip finder, but I find that the driving trip finder option doesn't always work correctly.
Comments about Tripbase.com:
i saw a quote on this site that called it the match.com of travel, i like it!
travel match-making, a nice idea and it works well.
you - type in the sort of things you like to do on vacation
Tripbase - tells you where to go
you won't find all the extensive travel background information that you will on other more established sites and the design can be a bit haphazard but this is a great idea, nicely done, check it out - www.tripbase.com
