We may be traveling to Pittsburgh at the end of the summer, and I was wondering if anyone had been there, and if so, what exciting things you were able to do or see.  I don't know very much about the city (outside of the sports teams) and was curious if it could be a fun city.

Isn't there an Andy Warhol museum in Pittsburgh?

Edit: I just checked and there is. It's at 117 Sandusky Street. I never went but my wife did and she said it was interesting.

I really like Pittsburgh. They certainly call it the City of Bridges for a reason. You'll see many stretched across the river running through downtown. You HAVE to have a Primanti Brothers sandwich while you're there!!! Don't leave until you do. Prepare your arteries though. Primanti's piles on your choice of meat then french fries, cold slaw & tomatoes. Yes, they put the fries on the sandwich. Brilliant! Go to the original restaurant on "The Strip." Check out their web site: http://www.primantibros.com/

I know the Pirates suck, but you have to go to PNC Park.  I've been to 5 major league parks (Minute Maid Park, Coors Field, Kauffman Stadium, Old Busch Stadium, and PNC Park), and PNC Park is the best.  The atmosphere and the food are great, and they have Primanti Bros. there by the way.  I've had one of those sandwiches with the fries on it, and it's great.

The one other place I suggest you try is a place called Fatheads.  The food is nothing special, but they are noted for having a huge, and apparently ever changing, selection of beer on tap.  I'm not a big drinker at all, but I do like this place.  They will give you small samples on the beers to taste, so be sure to taste a few before you order.

Oh I was just coming to say the same thing!!!  I love these sandwiches.  But heed the warning... do not go to the strip after dusk.  It gets a little scary after that.  This is also a WONDEFUL shopping area, definitely some interesting shops there.

There's some coolness in Pittsburgh, no doubt. I love the inclines (and even know how to spell "funicular") and love quaffing chilly brewskis over at the Penn Brewery.

One of my best baseball memories is calling the box office at Three Rivers.

"You want tickets in the alcohol-free Family Section?" the agent asked me.

"No," I replied, "I prefer to be in the extra-alcohol section where people really drink a lot. Do you have one of those?"

"Yeah," the agent replied without missing a beat, "Right next to the paddy wagon!"
