Trans-Siberian Orchestra —

My husband and I love the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Christmas concerts.  After seeing them live we purchased the CD set.  In fact, my husband likes them so much he keeps them in his car and listens to them year round.

If you like the music but have not seen them live try to go to a live concert.  The music will mean so much more because you will mentally see the band performing when you hear the music playing other times.  The whole experience is an adventure into jazz, heavy metal and Christmas music as you have never witnessed before.  Going to a concert may even become your newest Christmas tradition!

Also known as TSO the group uses a full piece orchestra to record their CDs in studio.  On the road, local musicians help supplement the members of the band who travel.  The mix of orchestra instruments combined with electric guitar, drums and keyboards make an unforgettable listening experience but it is in the live concerts that things get quite interesting.

It takes about 15 hours to set up for one of the TSO performances.  Precision is required to coordinate the pyrotechnics, lasers and lights to synchronize with the music.  From start to finish the concert will keep you interested waiting to see what will happen next.

On a more somber note, the music is LOUD; maybe too loud for some and the lights may be too much for those who may be light sensitive.  If that doesn't include you, treat yourself to an evening that you will always remember.

This year I think we may get the DVD so that we can watch it over and over and over...

I have a difficult time with instrumental music unless I'm in church. I can sometimes enjoy that Manheim Steamroller (sp?) dude but not often. ~Gigi

Oh yes they are quite different. LOL - All in a good way!!! I'm very versatile in my music (except I don't care for heavy metal/screaming).

We saw this show for the first time last Christmas. What a wonderful, totally amazing show!!! Way better than I ever expected. We were thinking of bringing the kids this year but we're talking about 6 kids (between us)!!! That's a lot of $$$ but it would make a wonderful tradition.
