When I bought a high efficiency washer I thought I would get cleaner clothes, use less water and do my part to be eco-friendly. What I didn't expect was having to shop around for a detergent that would actually get my clothes clean the first time I washed them. Someone suggested trying the Trader Joe's HE liquid laundry detergent. They had a few scented detergents but I have sensitive skin and prefer a scent and dye free detergent. This detergent will get average stains and grime out of clothing but for anything that's been soaked in and allowed to dry you are going to have to soak it then wash it. You can use this on all colors of clothing because it doesn't contain bleach but don't over do it when you are adding the detergent. If you add too much you will end up with a sticky feeling on the surface of the clothes because the soap didn't rinse out completely. If the feel tacky or sticky when you take them out of the washer simply put them back in and run them through a regular cycle without adding any soap. If you have a HE / high efficiency machine and are still looking for a detergent for normal day to day laundry needs, this is worth trying if you have a Trader Joe's in your area.

Why stick with just one brand of laundry detergent? I like to use natural brands but I often buy whatever is on sale at the time. So when I am at Trader Joe's I often buy their HE Liquid Laundry Detergent because it is environmentally sound, works well and it is cheap. What more could I ask for? And besides, I imagine that each brand probably has different strengths and weaknesses, so switching around isn't such a bad thing. The Trader Joe's HE Liquid Laundry Detergent has very little scent and you don't need to use very much to get your clothes clean so there is less packaging to waste and less to carry if you use a Laundromat. The Trader Joe's HE Liquid Laundry Detergent is a little bit watery so you have to pour it carefully but it does come with a measuring cup in the cap so you just have to pay attention. I like it that my clothes don't smell really strong when I pull them out of the dryer but rather they just smell clean. And as a bonus Trader Joe's doesn't test their products on animals either!

I absolutely love the Trader Joe's line of products and this laundry detergent is amazing. I purchased Trader Joe's Liquid Laundry Detergent HE (High Efficiency) during a recent trip to my local Trader Joe's. I am very impressed with this laundry detergent. First, the detergent itself smells clean and fresh. This is very important to me as I am using this detergent to wash my children's clothes. I want to leave their clothing smelling clean and fresh but I do not want their clothing to have a heavy "perfume smell". Second, a little but of this detergent goes a very long way. I anticipate that this bottle of detergent will last several months if not longer. Third, I love how easily this detergent pours and that the design of the bottle minimizes spills. Finally, I love how clean my clothes are after using Trader Joe's Liquid Laundry Detergent HE (High Efficiency) and how effective it is at removing stubborn stains. I pre-treated grass and formula stains with this detergent about 30 minutes prior to washing. The stains came out in one wash and the clothes looked fantastic. I highly recommend using Trader Joe's Liquid Laundry Detergent HE (High Efficiency). It is an exceptional laundry detergent and you will be pleased with the results.

I first tried Trader Joe's Liquid Laundry Detergent when Consumer Reports recommended it as a best buy. Trader Joe's is around the corner and I was out of detergent, so I bought some. I am so glad I did. It does a fine job cleaning clothes and I've never had a problem with too much suds or the sticky feeling you sometimes get after using other detergents. But much more important, I am not allergic to it! I am very sensitive to scents and usually buy only unscented products. This detergent does have a scent, but it causes me no reaction. In fact, once I was out of detergent and so was Trader Joe's so I bought some Tide unscented. I missed the pleasant smell in my bathroom after hanging up fresh towels! I highly recommend this product. Performance I don't need to use any supplemental product. This does everything I need including gardening grime from my jeans. Scent As mentioned above, very pleasing and does not kick my allergies into action.

     I confess.  I have nothing to compare **Trader Joe's Liquid Laundry Detergent HE** with.  Why?  Easy.  After I got my high-efficiency, front-loading washer, this was the first HE detergent I bought and... I think ***it's incomparable!***    ** Trader's HE Detergent** contains no harsh or petro chemicals; it's pH balanced and non polluting; lowsudsing; works in all temperatures; is biodegradable; and is scented with essential lavender oils.  The scent is strong when you pour the detergent.  It's just a fresh-air whisper, though, when your clothes come out of the washer.       If there's a failing, it's that the built-in, soy-based fabric softener doesn't seem to make my clean clothes softer.  As for the optical brighteners?  They're *cellulose*-based and, with the better job my front loader does, make my laundry look cleaner and more vivid the moment I take it out and plunk it in the basket.    Because **Trader's Liquid Detergent **is very viscous, I pour mine into a two or three-cup covered container and spoon it out with a tablespoon.  My washer takes two tablespoons of this colorless liquid.  That's a lot of washing from either **Trader's** 53 Fl Oz bottle or his One Gallon container.  The smaller bottle says "at least 26.5 loads or more".  The larger one claims "at least 64 loads or more depending on load size."**  **Both are reasonably priced.**     **A last great sigh of relief... **TJ's Liquid Laundry Detergent** hasn't been tested on animals and does not contain animal by-products.  **Trader Joe's Detergent** has only one logical caution and that is as a possible "mild eye irritant".     Call me non-adventurous, but with **TJ's Liquid Laundry Detergent**, I just don't have the need or the desire to try anything else.     **          **

I've been using all-natural products for years now, and I've tried many brands. One of my favorite liquid laundry detergents is this one by Trader Joe's. It's completely all natural and has no harsh chemicals, phosphates, fragrances or formaldehyde. It is mainly made of plant-based surfactants, earth salts, and lavender essential oil. My favorite thing about this detergent is the lovely lavender scent! The nice thing about the scent is that it smells wonderful when it comes out of the wash, but isn't overpowering when it comes out of the dryer. The only downside that I've found is that it doesn't thoroughly remove stains as well as traditional detergents. However, I've been adding a bit of borax to the wash, which helps remove stains much better. Compared to other all-natural laundry detergents this one is much cheaper, and goes a long way! If you are looking for an all-natural liquid detergent, I'd highly recommend this one!

Trader Joe's Liquid Laundry Detergent is one of my most favorite finds.  I was looking to move away from brands like Tide, and go to a more natural detergent.  Trader Joe's has one of the best budget finds out of the natural brands.  You get a lot more detergent for a lot less money.  The detergent works well, does not leave any white residue on your clothing, and is better than the Trader Joe's powder laundry detergent. I love the list of ingredients that come in this bottle, everything is natural and plant based.  There aren't any artificial scents.  The bottle states that the detergent is PH balanced, no phosphates or formaldehyde, contains no harsh petro chemicals, non polluting, all temperatures, with lavender essential oils, low sudsing for all machine types, septic and greywater safe, 100% biodegradable, built in fabric softener and optical brightener, not tested on animals, and made with #2 plastic, which makes it recycable. Highly recommend!
