Yes, I know I probably made you cringe with that introduction above. — But what does one say about 20 cubes of finely-chopped, frozen basil for around two dollars?  The packaging is the most interesting thing.  The frozen cubes are packed into a plastic tray and one simply has to pop out each cube when needed.  Each cube equals one teaspon of fresh chopped basil.  Take out as many cubes as needed and simply snap the top back on and toss in the freezer until the next use.  It's the next best thing to fresh. — However, these cubes contain such finely… read full review »

TJ's pack of cubed basil might sound like an oddity, but rest assure that this beats the dried stuff hands down. Okay, it's not as good as fresh, but I would give it an award for  second runner up anytime. The cubes are roughly the size of a bullion cube and come in a resealable tray. They are flash frozen which means that the basil retains most of its color and flavor. If I make a large pot of spaghetti sauce for eight people, three to four cubes will pack in a bunch of basil flavor. It has plenty of other uses as well.
