Chicco Toys

Chicco Toys

I did not see another toy like this on any reviews, but it is a Chicco crib toy.  It has several interactive features that are sensitive so even a young baby can accidentally make it make noise.  It has a cylinder with beads at the bottom, so it rattles and then makes noise.  It also has four buttons-one that you can record your voice on (near the bottom and the easiest for baby to get to other than the cylinder), and three more that play different songs.  These are not the annoying songs of most toys.  They are very soothing and there are even cricket sounds on there depending on which button...

Fisher-Price Little People Animal Sounds Barn

Fisher-Price Little People Animal Sounds Barn
buying for durability, buying for a preschooler

The Fisher Price Animal Sounds Barn is a really fun toy for a wide range of ages.  My babies have had a great time pushing the buttons that make sounds while my older kids really like playing pretend with the barn and animals.  It comes with several animals and a farmer.  Each animal has its own spot in the barn including the farmer who has his own bed.

The Fisher Price Animal Sounds Barn folds up for a storage which is really nice.  Some of the sounds include a cow mooing, a pig oinking, a horse neighing, a sheep baaing, the farmer snoring in his bed, and a blacksmith table with a pounding...

Pressman Toys Let's Go Fishin' Game

Pressman Toys Let's Go Fishin' Game

Let's Go Fish!!! This is a great game, I had if not the same one a similar one when I was a child. This game is great for hand eye coordination. The fish spin around slowly and open there mouths to receive your fishing hook. When they close their mouths you lift the fish out. This can be a little tricky if you do not hold your hook steady. The point of the game is to get the most fish. The game is colorful and pretty durable, however its easy to loose parts ( a fish or fishing pole) The price is not bad on this item either. It does require batteries, but they seem to last a long time. This is a...

LeapFrog

LeapFrog

LeapFrog is amazing.  We started out having a friend purchase a Leap Frog ABC video as a gift for us.  I watched the video and was extremely impressed.  After that I purchased many Leap Frog learning toys for my son.

My son LOVED playing with each and every one of them, andhe was learning so much!  Before I new and without much assistance at all, he knew he ABCs and could recognize each letter and it's sound.  It was amazing.

By the time he started Kindergarten, he already had all this down and amazed his teacher.  In fact he was almost bored for most of Kindergarten.  To this day I credit...

Step 2 50s Diner

Step 2 50s Diner
buying for durability, buying for a preschooler, budget conscious, looking for durability

DEC

Like the other reviewer, we were struggling with finding a toy "kitchen" for my 2 year old son.  He wanted to play with something that had lots of doors and trays to open and move around,  I just couldn't stand the idea of something decorated with flowers, in pink, or so obviously for a girl.  I wanted him to know that kitchens were for everyone, not just for dollies and their mommies.

The 50's diner proved to be a great solution on many levels.  One side is a kitchen with a red top with a range, a door that opens "up" from the surface that we pretend is a microwave, a sink, some storage areas,...

Nintendo Wii

The Nintendo Wii was one of those "have to haves" in my house and I caved last holiday season when we got a good deal.  Everyone in the house seems to enjoy it, but after witnessing my little brother fall prey to the video game beast, video game time is quite limited in my house.  It is nice that there are fun games that the whole family can compete and play along with each other in.

We enjoy the games that came with the Wii as well as have purchased others. We have the Wii Fit board as well.  Everyone in the house seems to be able to understand how to work the machine and follow directions. ...

VTech Laptop

VTech Laptop

The VTech laptop was given to our son as a gift but we probably wouldn't have chosen this particular laptop for our child. The VTech laptop is very colorful and produces a lot of sounds. It has large buttons to push and each button has a corresponding sound. There's also a screen that lights up and also makes sounds and music. There is also a "mouse" that actually moves.

The VTech laptop says it's for agest 6-36 months, although I think once a baby is over 1 years old, this toy probably becomes really boring. It's fun in the beginning as the different sounds and lights may be entertaining but then...

I have three kids who are old enough to use this toy.  They all enjoy it in different ways.  I love toys that can grow with my kids.  Even though this toy doesn't have any fancy accessories, it has the ability to grow with your kids simply because as their brains develop, they can still use this toy in a new way.

My two year old loves to watch the water soak in and spread.  She doesn't really try to make the pictures or letters shown on the edge of the play mat.

My five year old practices the step by step instructions on how to make the different animals, etc. on the edge.

My seven year old...
